Luke buried his face in her hair. All he could think about was that he had likely caused the death of their unborn child. After all, the stress of the situation with the maid had probably been too much and the baby had died.

Luke felt her tense up and bit his lip. "Shh," he whispered, holding her close. He rubbed her back. "Don't cry, baby."

Kristyna hugged Luke, letting out a deep breath. "I wanna go home," she whimpered sadly.

"We'll go home. I promise." Luke kissed her head and sighed deeply. This was not exactly how he'd envisioned their honeymoon.
