this is a roleplay between duckheart and myself. it should go with out saying that you should not post if underneath your avatar it doesn't say "duckheart" or "chameli,," -- moving on --
this is a historical romance type of roleplay. the plot surrounds native americans, a male and a female, in rival tribes who are to be wed in order to make peace.

_____The girl looked across the small space between herself and what she referred to as 'the Invaders'. She could not believe what was currently transpiring. Actually, what she couldn't believe was her father. The way he had forced her into this. The way he had just given up on the strength of his people. A tribal chief should have more backbone than that. No... that was not why she was angry. The girl sighed and cast a sidelong glance at the chief sitting beside her. She was angry because her life was basically being laid out in front of her in the form of the 'Invaders' Chief's son.
_____The girl was Shikoba-Sayen, a Native American Indian, and one with a mind of her own. To say that she was not happy would be an understatement, especially when one considered the circumstances. Shiki, as most called her, was to be married to Etu, a man of the tribe that the girl's had been fighting with for years now. Peace would be brought upon the two peoples in the form of an arranged marriage, and that was what had the young female in a dangerous mood.
_____Her arms across her chest defiantly, Shiki had been forced by her father to agree to the marriage. If not for her own happiness, for the sake of their dwindling tribe. The girl didn't know how many more of her people she could see fall before she lost her head and went numb with grief. Glaring at the ground, Shiki tried to keep her dark brown eyes from boring into anyone's in particular, for fear that there might erupt a full-blown battle from within the tepee itself.
_____Then tension inside the small place was bordering on unbearable, and as the only female in the room, it was probably one of the most intimidating experiences of the heir's life. Though, she imagined that was soon to change. Tuning back into the conversation at hand, Shiki listened as her father began to speak to the other chief, sending a wish up to the mother of earth to be released from the small, confined place, and be able to avoid all of this mess entirely.
_____As if the Mother of Earth herself had granted Shiki's wish, her father, Chief Black Elk, turned to speak to her, "Why don't you and young Etu go out and talk. So you get to know one another." He said, though to Shiki it translated to, 'Don't kill the boy, but we need to make some agreements, and that would be best without you here."
_____Shiki pointedly stared at her father for a moment, before standing with a sigh, and disappearing out the flap of the tepee. Normally the girl would've walked off and left the intruder to meander around, but she didn't need him gathering information about the village. So instead she turned and crossed her arms over her chest, waiting for him to emerge from within the small home.
ehhhh... this sucks, but here we go.

▋▋ ▋ asdf ETU asdf ▋▋ ▋ ▋▋ ▋ ▋▋ ▋asdfasdfasdfa● ● ● ● asdfasdfasdfasdfasdf ● ●asdfasdfasdfasdf. ɪητεΰsasdf ℙεʀӈᾳρs it was a trap. Yes, that's what it has to be. Besides, what else would such savage people be here for? Surely, the moment the other tribe find a suitable situation, they wouldn't stop at ripping off his father's hair. Every inch of hair meant the greater one's strength, but it wasn't the most precious thing in the eyes of his father. There were only three things that mattered to him: his tribe, his son, and his wife -- his hair was never among those. This tribe would certainly love to separate all of that from his father.
asdf Etu was skilled at jumping to conclusions and believing every word that came out of any mouth if they were an elder. It was a bad habit he had obtained as a child, stuck to him since. Of course, having passed so many winters, it was natural that he stopped believing the tall-tales his mother would tell him -- only the things that fit his needs. The hair thing? It's commonly believed in these parts, but with Etu having locks that grew faster than what his horse would run, it was always something that he took to heart. As for the whole "All the races and tribes in the world are like the different colored flowers of one meadow. All are beautiful. They must all be respected," was something Etu always thought was nonsense, especially with his tribe in war with theirs. But then again, who doesn't think poorly of their enemy?
asdf And this day was more of a reason to do so. When their tribe held a meeting, it was only between a selected group of elders. In other words, not Etu. However, his father had requested him that morning to join in. The fact that their rival tribe would also be there, it was safe to say Etu was slightly frightened. But eventually, he found out the meeting would not be taking place in his own territory, but instead, the rivals'. He also soon found out that he'd be marrying one of their women. And yet, they still expected the two to speak outside?
asdf Etu observed as the girl -- whatever her name was -- rose to her feet and left the small area. Etu, however, remained frozen, still trying to force himself to believe what was going on. He glanced at the rival chief and then his father, who would not speak, but seemed impatient. Uneasily, he followed her out, not quite sure how to react in this situation. Outside now, he kept a decent amount of distance between the girl and himself, besides, with the look on her face, she didn't seem too happy about it, either.
