Featherpaw faked a screech of terror as she toppled into the water, "No fair ! I should have won! " she protested , a smile creeping onto her face. She waited a moment before pushing him off . Featherpaw splashed him playfully , her eyes challenging him.

Larkstar walked further into the den. "I'm worried about the Clan. It seems cats haven't been trusting each other since Ebonypaw's mother died, and I'm worried we're falling apart. How do you think I could bring the Clan together until this is solved?" She thought about poor Ebonypaw, trying to act unshaken. She knew he must still be mourning. She glanced at Poppyfrost sheepishly, wondering if it was wrong for the leader to ask for advice.

ᵛᵒˡᵉᵖᵃʷ Volepaw walked out of the elder's den with a shudder. The apprentices had to do all the nasty jobs, and he wouldn't mind so much if the other apprentices at least helped him out. He cleaned his pelt thoroughly before going to the nursery to see if the queens needed anything.

ᶤᵛʸᵖᵃʷIvypaw dug her claws furiously into the ground after a rabbit escaped them. She hissed quietly, trying to find any other prey. She'd caught a mouse, but it was small. At least it would feed Wolfkit, the only kit in the nursery. Ivypaw sank to the ground, her shoulders slumped. Misery made her sigh. Ebonypaw seemed okay, but he hadn't spoken to her since before the vigil started the morning before. Warmheart was gone, she was like Ivypaw's kin. She'd helped take care of Ivy"kit" when her real mother hadn't. Now Ebonypaw had changed inside.

For a moment, she looked taken aback by the question, but quickly wiped the look off her face. "I... I don't know, but... I suppose, if we showed everyone that we can stick together, then- then maybe..." Poppyfrost broke off, looking down at her paws in confusion and embarrassment. What was she saying, trying to give her leader advice? "I don't know. I suppose that what I mean is that... er, if we show the others that we can stand together, then maybe they'll follow our example?"

Larkstar smiled. "That's a good way to think about it. Perhaps...hmm. Wolfkit will be apprenticed soon, maybe that will remind the other cats that we're all family." She thought hard. "We need a distraction from the bad things going on. I'll ask Fallenheart as well, see if he has any ideas." She was sure her mate would have something, he was the smartest cat Larkstar knew. "Thanks for your help. Is there anything I can do for you? It must be hard taking care of all of the sick cats alone."

Poppyfrost smiled, glad to know she could have helped in her small way. "I suppose there isn't much else we can do but be strong. And yes, yes, Fallenheart may certainly have some advice. That's a good idea." Realizing she was babbling, Poppyfrost quickly slowed her speech down. She had barely anything to do, yet was so jittery. "Thank you for the offer, but I'm just sorting herbs now. Go, speak with Fallenheart and I'll see you later today." With that, she turned back to her herbs and left Larkstar to herself.

Larkstar nodded politely, leaving the shy medicine cat alone to work. Fallenheart was across camp, so she walked over to her mate. "Hey," she said, rubbing her cheek against his. "Mind taking a walk with me? I want to talk to you." She would be fine talking in camp, but any cat could be listening.
