Poor Gallifrey's (DeT) tail is still recovering from the attack months ago.

The guppies

And the NPT 10G they share with Gallifrey.
......I really need to sell some anacharis.

I have 100 dollars in christmas money. I told my grandmother (Aka my ride) and she thought about it for a minute, then it dawned on her what I was hinting at and she goes "NO! OUR FLOORS CANNOT HOLD 100 GALLONS!"
BUT /GRANDMA/.
Lol its a good thing the sale only goes up to 55 gallons. XD

I got a new betta! Her name is Pip (short for Pippi Longstocking- my mom helped name her, haha) and she is TINY. She's definitely bigger than the Petco baby bettas, but she's definitely young. She's maybe a third of the size of Tango.

(so many bubbles, urgh)
I didn't mean to buy her and I probably shouldn't have, but I felt awful leaving her there. This petsmart usually has tons of bettas, but today the display was completely empty. I thought they were completely sold out until I was looking at some plants and noticed some fish underneath the shelf. There were five little female crowntails left over from Christmas.
I usually don't like females (or crowntails), but I fell in love with her right away. The others looked really sickly and lethargic, but she swam right to the front of her cup and followed my fingers. I didn't want to leave her in that little cup, she already has ammonia burns on her gills and she looks so tiny and fragile. Females never seem to sell well at this Petsmart, either (I always see dead females, they sit on the shelves for a long time) and she's not all that flashy so she'd probably get overshadowed by all the bettas coming in the next shipment.
And she's already been passed over so many times, I just had to give the poor thing a home.
I wasn't prepared to take her and the heater I ordered won't be here until Monday, but I threw her tank together and it should be okay until everything comes. I also ordered a bunch of plants and a snail that should come on Wednesday. Her tank isn't the greatest right now, but she'll be one very spoiled little fish soon. ^^
For now, the temperature is staying around 68-70. It's definitely not ideal, but at least she has more space and cleaner water than what she had at the store.
And here's her tank:

My brother gave me the decorations for Christmas and I was going to return them, but they'll make really good hiding places while I wait for the plants to come.
I really hope she makes it. I don't want to get attached because she's so young and fragile, but apart from the ammonia burns she isn't showing any signs of sickness. Hopefully she'll heal up with a bit of clean water.

She's so pretty wibeke <3
I don't like crowntail bettas usually either, but I fell in love with the 4 female crowntails currently in my sorority tank. She looks very pretty and since she's still so young, I'm sure her colors still have some brightening up to do. Females usually change their colors drastically before they fully mature.

Male crowntails look kind of awkward to me, (maybe it's because my boy is a tail biter and I'm just sick of the spikey tail look, haha) but the females are definitely growing on me. The little spiky rays are just so cute!
And it should be really interesting to see her grow up, I've never had such a young fish before and I can't wait to see how she'll change.

Question for you guys:
So my double-half-moon tail betta (something like that'd I can't remember his full species name) Bong Bong, has a really full tail. Or did.
His tail seems to be shrinking. I've had him since July, and he hasn't made a bubble nest as far as I know. Our tank is 55 gallons. He only has one other fish in the tank, and that's our (rather large) male bushy-nosed pleco.
Why is his tail deteriorating?

I don't have room for another smaller tank in my house, so he's living in my 55 gal with 6 guppies, 2 platys, a sumo loach, and a dozen or so unknown species fry. He's taken to the 55 pretty well since I put him in yesterday.
My 55 is the one I showed pictures of that's pretty heavily planted and all natural looking.
We settled on the name Alduin since he's a 'dragon' scale and he's mostly black. >.< I've got a picture of him on my phone I'll load onto my computer in a little bit. ^.^
Did you seee my name suggestion? What do you think of it. Its back almost directly after you ask...
im still putting off my 29-gallon... not good. Is my fear of finding a readdy old dead fish that bad? Yes.

What does he eat? And what's the tank temperature, lighting, hiding spot arrangement.
I know that bettas need a high protein diet to keep their fins nice and healthy. That's my best guess..
