LessThanThree wrote:Its a very easy read, but is beautiful. I was recommended it by my mum who read it before me, and I literally couldn't put it down. When I was close to the end, I sat up until 5 oclock, reading it!

I once started a book at ten at night, finished it at two in the morning... O.e
Anyways, The Bartimaeus Trilogies, I recomend to anyone who likes to read, hard, long long books with complicated meaningless plots and babble.

I LOVE IT!

My mum's finding it really hard to get into, and is only on the second book still! XD. Anyways, I find them easy... But that's just my particular taste.
Bartimaeus is my favourite character.
Then Nathaniel/Jhon Mandrake, even though he's a magician, manipulating, twisted, and kinda evil. He's a wimpy little kid, and I love him. It was so so sad when he died... *cries* I recon even Bartimaeus was a little sad then.
Then Fraqual... Oh, don't look at me like that! I know he's Bartimaeus's nemisis, and all time arch enemy... But it WASN'T sad when he died. It was hilarious. Truely... hilarious.
Then... Kitty. Meh. Her personality bugs me personally... But I have to admit, Bartimaeus and I were in HISTERICS when she punched Jhon(Nathaniel)'s lights out! Black eye and everything!

I'm more into human stuff, I like a good chunky book. The Magicians guild books were brilliant, and I have to say that the Eragon series was great was well...though its been nearly two years, when is the next one coming out already?! Oh and the Harry Potter series...I have always loved that. I swear, I've read each book at least five times! And that isn't exaggeration!!

I had the creepiest dream the other night! :? I want to make it into a sci-fi novel, maybe, (or, well, at least, put it into words! xP), or just make it into a story, maybe....? :/

First, (VERY ROUGH!), draft of a page (I don't have anything else):

The air was warm, yet it was all silent as I walked along the dirt pile with my Mom. The sun had started to set, so the sky was awash with reds, pinks, and oranges at one end of the sky. Farthest from the setting sun, the sky was dark, midnight-blue.
I glanced at the young boy and his little brother walking near us. Suddenly, as we walked along a patch of ground, churned up by machines, long ago, before this mess all started, the little boy’s eyes snapped wide open, and he gasped, “Get down!”
Of course, we all did as he said. And, soon, it all became clear. As my face pressed gently into the dirt, I listened above, and I tilted my eyes upward to see a squad of little cylinder-like aliens flying in the air above us.
Picture that alien from Fairly Odd Parents, whatever his name is. Only the Gleeritrons—the name for these aliens—are much, much scarier. Do not ever get them confused with the kinder aliens from the kids’ show; it could cost you your life.

This “mess” that I am talking about all started about a year ago. The aliens came to Earth, unseen, unheard of, and settled down in the mountains of Pennsylvania, where they bred, clustered, and came up with a plan to take the energies of Earth.
Basically, the planet is in chaos. There’s no electricity, because the Gleeritrons have stolen it all. I have no idea why it’s going, or why they’re even here, except to steal the electricity. Except… why here??? I’m sorry for putting three exclamation points, but, I mean, really. Why are they here? What do they want from us? What are they planning to do once their mission is finished? Will their mission ever be finished? Or will they just take the humans as slaves to make them work and make energy? I’ve been thinking on it, but of course I can’t just ask them for the answer.

Finally, the squadron of maybe fifteen Gleeritrons disappeared. The little boy stood up, brushed off his big jacket, and announced, “Boy! I’m still a little leery about these things.”
His brother said nothing, but simply nodded vigorously, his eyes wide. I turned to the little boy.
“Okay. What’s the deal?” I demanded. “Why can you tell when they’re coming, and I can’t? I had absolutely no warning whatsoever, and you weren’t even looking in their direction!”
He sighed, and explained, “Well, I’m Jack, for starters—” I blushed; he must be thinking, How rude! She didn’t even introduce herself, or tell me her name! But there was no time to think about that now. “—and I can tell when they’re coming. I just… can. It’s like a sort of beeping, or clicking, or vibrating sound that begins in your head when they’re even the least bit near…. Generally, they need to be around five miles away, and that’s when the vibrations start. And you can only really tell when they’re active and traveling, and anywhere near you.” He seemed quite ready to volunteer the information, but suddenly, he stopped abruptly and said, “Well, we simply must be going now. They could always come back. And,” he added seriously, looking over his shoulder as he started walking off in the direction we had originally been going, “You may want to follow us. Those things are dangerous, and especially if you didn’t know they were coming.” With that, he walked off, his brother in tow.

However, as they left the area, his brother turned to me and whispered in my ear, “He’s a spy.”
“For who?” I asked, my breath catching in my throat.
“For us.” And, then, with that, he walked away. I could only stare dumbly after him.

It's probably going to be a bit of a technobabble story. x3

Ohh, that's so odd. I almost bought The Book Thief yesterday! My friend told me about it and I read the first five pages or so in the store. It seems really good, and I think I'm going to take it out from my libary(I'm at it now, actually). I never liked things with magicians in them. :l I ususally go for sci-fi action mega-gory sort of thing. XD By the way, I just took out(borrowed), like, a two- or three-inch book. It's called The Invention of Hugo Cabbet.

Amberleaf; what an odd dream! That would probably make a good story. I already know it has my attention because in the back of my mind I'm curious. ^^; I would love to hear more. Do you think you'll write more?

There's more in the dream. XD I just haven't gotten around to writing it yet! ^.^; I'm too lazy, and... besides, it's CREEPY! D: *makes up some random, not-true excuse about having homework to finish and flees from your expectations* XD No, no! I'm still right here! ^.^; I think that I will, soon! :3

(Go on IKIG! D:<)

Oh, really? You'll have to show me it. And scary? ^^; How interesting. The most vivid dreams I have I can olny remember in the five minutes after I wake up. Shame, really. I do have some good dreams.
Gah!

(Tee-hee. I will. ;D)

Well, I've been thinking about this particular dream for a few days! XD Mostly because it creeped me out so much, and I couldn't sleep for a few hours when I woke up at 4 AM on the night I had it, and because I decided while doing my papers that I wanted to write a sci-fi book about it! XD But, still! It should be very interesting! ^.^; :3
