"Hmm, okay." Blackpaw mewed. The black tom took his time making each leap count. He stood beside Ashpaw and watched his sister down below.

Nightpaw tensed and then did a leap onto a boulder. She waited as she judged the next and soon got up to them.

Whiteshadow glanced around, "All I see is small trails. Do you suppose the kit came wandering alone?"

Hazelfur-
"I suppose it's possible, but the kit's awfully young to wander that far from it's mother," Hazelfur murmured, confused. "You don't think that the kit was deserted do you?"

Oceanpaw sighed, "I'd hope not. He's so young, and why would anybody even do that!" She exclaimed, "maybe we should follow the kits trails, eather way he came from somewere."

"It's possible that he was abandoned." Whiteshadow responded. "It's happened before." He said, talking about the day they found Blackpaw and Nightpaw abandoned in their territory.

Hazelfur-
"Well it's better than any plan we've got so far, good thinking Oceanpaw!" she praised her new apprentice. "Alright, let's see if the kit's pawprints lead anywhere. StarClan forbid the kit was abandoned," Hazelfur sighed, feeling sorry for the kit.

Whiteshadow padded over to the trail and sniffed it just to make sure it was the kit's. The black and white tom started following it towards the border. His churned uneasily as doubts filled him.

"OK...here we are!" She mewed as she brushed past some ferns. Inside the cave was a sparkling river with a grassy floor and some sunshine shone on the grass. "I always come here to think" She confessed as she padded towards the water.

Hazelfur-
After a while, and the tracks continued to stretch out across the camp, Hazelfur sighed. "Is it just me or does it seem like we're getting nowhere with this search?"

Nightpaw's eyes widened in awe. "Wow... This place is amazing, Ashpaw." She mewed softly.

Blackpaw started to padded around exploring the cave a bit. "It's very beautiful and peaceful. Is this where you always disappear off to?" He asked as he placed a paw on the grass.

"Seems like he traveled around the territory not knowing where he was going." Whiteshadow frowned. "It's probably clear that he was left behind. I'm sure the mother would have been searching around for him and calling out to her kit in our territory by now."

"I guess you're right Whiteshadow. We should probably report back to Mountainstar and say we couldn't find the mother. What a shame," Hazelfur hung her head in pity for the kit.
