Hi Willow

I just got to my mom's house for winter break. I put my room in order and set up an alter in the corner. But today we got a call from someone who would like to take over our lease so I think I'll be burning my candles all the way down to make the holder easier to pack up. It's hard to move around...I live with my dad but visit my mother every chance I get. This summer I'll move in with her, and I won't know anyone because she's moving before summer. New school, new people...I just hope there will be some Wiccans at my new school or maybe even on my block...
Hi, I'm Willowkit17, feel free to call me Willow, or Crow...I prefer Crow.

Wearing human skin I never chose
I listened to the devil as he spoke
Because he tempted me with a beautiful rose"---
"I know I love you but I won't
But I just need something to calm my nerves
Tell you a thing in case you don't
Preferably a cigarette or something just as absurd
I know I miss you, but it's OK
Or maybe I want my anxiety to stay
I don't get depressed when I am lonely
'Cause in the end it's all I have to ease the pain
Of the distance that took you away"

Good luck with your move and I hope you make lots of new friends. (:
Blessed Yule to everyone as well. (:

Hello there. ^^
I often let my candles burn all of the way down, though I tend to use small candles to begin with. I don't know why, but I personally feel like it makes a bit of a difference. I don't want to disturb the candle when it's burning, lest I mess with its power or something. I don't know why I feel that way, it's just something I've always thought. Kind of like I think blowing a candle disrupts its flow of energy versus snuffing it out.
As for finding other Wiccans, you never know. You may find someone, sure! Do your parents know and support your decision to follow this path? If not, you may have some difficulty. Covens will only accept people who are eighteen or older, though sometimes you get lucky and find one who will let a younger person in with parental consent and advisory. However, if you're just wanting to find someone to study with, it would be pretty cool to find someone your age. I'm solitary, but I understand wanting community and friendship, as well as someone to learn with.
I wish you the best of luck in your move! If you would like or are willing, I will send a prayer to Spirit for you. :3

They know. My dad thinks it's "just a phase" but my mother fully supports me, that's one of the reasons I'll be moving in with my mom.

Oh, I see. That's very fortunate for you then! Perhaps if you find a coven near you that will let you in with permission and parental supervision, your mother would accompany you to meetings so that you could be a part of one. I think that would be very nice. While I could join a coven that practices about an hour away from me, I'm not sure I really want to. At least, not yet. Maybe someday I will start a circle on my campus.

Oh, I adore this question! Here's all you need to know: what do you want? There is no set way to set up an altar, and anyone who says otherwise is wrong. Don't fret about it, love. ^^ All you need is a place to put things, and things to put on that place. Lets start with what to use as the base, which usually faces North.
If you have access to a treestump or large rock, that's what I would personally use. The connection to the earth found through those objects is really useful, especially during Ritual. If you're like me and you don't have that sort of thing {or you can't use them where you are}, choose something easy. I have two altars: one at my house and one in my dorm room. The one in my house sits on a small nightstand, and the one in my dorm room is on an overturned green storage tub. You can use anything, or if you don't want a permanent altar, you can just get an altar cloth and set it up on anything, quite literally. One of my good friends does this, and when she's ready to use her altar, she unpacks it and sets it up on her bed. Anything you have available will work, even a regular cardboard box.
Next, you should probably get some sort of altar cloth. You don't really have to have one, as with all other aspects of an altar, but I suggest one. Not only does it keep things clean, but because it's only used for your altar, it keeps things more sacred. Besides, I like to think that it acts as a blanket that soaks up some of your good energy each time you use it. You can use just about anything for an altar cloth, but whatever you use shouldn't be used for anything else. I went to Wal-Mart and bought a bit of fabric that I really liked, and that's what I use. I just drape it over my altar. It was easy to get and pretty cheap.
Now, as for setting up the contents of your altar, a good plan is to remember this: The left side belongs to the Goddess, the right to the God, and the middle is usually neutral, or where they come together as The One. Now, lets start with the Goddess' side, then the God's, then the middle.
In the top left corner, a Goddess candle is usually found, as well as something that represents the Goddess in some way {in your opinion}. The Goddess has her own colors which are usually recognized as green, white, and silver, so you could choose a candle in one of those colors for her. Mine, for example, is green. I have a picture of my grandmother as my Goddess representation because she and the Goddess are very close for me. Below the Goddess candle is usually the Chalice to represent Water of the West and an offering bowl. Your offering bowl can be anything that can be used to place things in. Mine is a tiny little china tea cup saucer, where I put flowers, stones, four leaf clovers, or anything else that I want to thank Them for. This can double as your cauldron if you'd like, though a cauldron isn't really even needed in my opinion.
In the top right corner sits the God candle and the God representation. The God's colors are usually seen as red, yellow, or gold. My God candle is red, and because I celebrate the Christian Jesus as the child of Them, His picture is my representation. Below the candle usually sits incense, the representation of elemental Air which is of the East.
In the top middle is some sort of representation of elemental Earth, which is of the North. Below it is a pentacle, and below that is something to represent Fire of the South. Usually Fire is represented by charcoal or something else you can use to burn things on during Ritual.
If you have any tools, they can also be set upon the altar- bell and the cauldron are representations of the Goddess, and are thus normally found on the left. The wand and the athame are those of the God, and thus tend to be on the right. You can also place a Book of Shadows on it if you'd like, especially if you use it for Ritual.
The very best thing to remember though is this: As with all parts of Wicca, there is no one set way. You can make your altar however you'd like. If your altar setup is pleasing to you, it's pleasing to Them. Don't worry about how everyone else does it, just follow your heart.
I think I got everything, but if not.. Feel free to add on, everyone! :3

I hope it's okay that I post here without joining, since I'm not officially Wiccan.
But I haven't really seen a good site that really explains Wiccan beliefs, so I wanted to know some basic rituals etc that you guys follow ^^
I am not really any religion right now, so I kind of consider myself an atheist, but recently I've found out about Wicca and I was thinking maybe I could try considering myself Wiccan for a bit, since it kind of clicks with me. But I wanted to know about it a bit more first C:
Thank you so much for all and any help given, and I apologize if this is against the rules <3
