Currentstar awoke and yawned. It was already sunhigh! She gasped, and ran out of her den to the apprentice den to fetch Aspenpaw. They were going to try to hunt, even though it was Leaf-bare. Maybe some prey will be scurrying.. and he needed to learn hunting anyways.

Aspenpaw-
Aspenpaw padded around, playing with his apprentice friends in the fluffy snow. When he saw his mentor, he quickly shook the white substance off of his pelt and sat up straight. "Hi Currentstar!' he mewed happily.

Currentstar purred and meowed "We are going to go training. Hunting, even though it's snowy. If we don't catch anything in a while we can do battle training."

Aspenpaw-
"Alright!" he mewed joyfully. "I'm going to be the best apprentice ever and catch LOT'S of prey!" Aspenpaw boasted, walking with his head held higher.

Currentstar laughed a little at the boasting of the apprentice, and then flicked her tail on his flank lightly. After that, she started toward the snowy camp entrance.

"How do you hunt in the snow?" he asked, scanning the area for signs of prey. The cold watery scent of snow was clouding his senses, so his nose wasn't as sharp.

"Well, you know how you cant smell much of them? You look, and listen. And they cant smell you either!" Currentstar explained. "Now, pretend you are blind. You can close your eyes if you want, but you don't have to. Blind cats have even better hearing and scenting abilities than normal cats. Do you hear anything?"

Aspenpaw closed his eyes for the sake of the learning experience. He pricked up his ears and listened carefully. He could currently only hear the steady breathing of the Clan leader...wait! "There's rustling in the bushes," he muttered.
