I cocked my head. "Ouch. Bet that hurt. I take it animals don't usually talk in your world?"
I looked outside the shop, where the snowstorm was reaching its zenith. "It's never been this bad before... It's almost as if the snow is trying to make
everything cold!" I could see a wolf vaguely through the blizzard. It looked as though she were trying to make it through in just a cloak.
Then I felt like someone or something was inside my head, sorting through it like folders in a cabinet. It was very disturbing, and I immediately put up barriers to try and force it out.

Almost there! I could feel the plushy's desperation dwindling as I got nearer. I probed the store for minds and found only two, disregarding the store clerk. One mind was very open and I could see that it was filled with good intentions. The other, however, was hard to penetrate. Human, I suspect. Her mind barriers were a tad weaker than the others', so I could glean more information from her. Piefan and Jaylor. Bat and dog.
