Jasper sighed, kissing their heads.

Ryder had crawled up on Rory's lap, crying too because everyone else was. He was only three. He didn't understand why everyone was sad, but it made him sad too.

Lizzie whimpered quietly into her father's shirt.

Jack looked down to see Ryder and sighed softly. "Shh, Ryder, no, it's okay," he whispered, trying to calm the three year-old. The last thing that Ryder needed was to fully understand what was going on.

Ryder looked up at Jack, then dug his face into Rory's stomach.

Jasper sighed, kissing her head. "I know."

Jack sighed. "Ryder, look at me." He wiped his eyes quickly.

Lizzie still cried into his shirt, trying to stay as quiet as possible. Even though it was pointless in this situation, she didn't want Rory to see how positively terrified she was that something bad was going to happen to him.

Ryder looked at Jack.

Jasper sighed, kissing her head. "Shh, I know baby girl."

"Rory's gonna be okay. He's just a little sick right now. I promise." He leaned down and kissed Ryder's head gently. "It's okay, bud."

Lizzie looked up at her father and sniffled. "What if..." she whispered, but she couldn't bring herself to say it.

Ryder nodded, and looked at Rory. Rory rubbed his brother's back.

"Shh, don't think like that," he said.

Jack looked to Austin and bit his lip.

Lizzie just shook her head and dropped it to his chest as the tears began to flow again. She was probably taking it harder than Rory himself was.

Jasper rubbed her back, just being there for her.

Jack leaned against Austin slightly. He wished he could cheer them up, but he didn't know how.

Cara broke away after a while and sniffled, wiping her eyes with a tissue from her purse. "Is there anything either of you need us to do?"
