Austin walked in, followed by Jasper.

Rory watched Lizzie.

Lizzie took his hand and sat by him again.

Jack and Cara both walked in as well. Cara was the first to break the silence. "What is all this about?"

Rory sighed. "I haven't been feeling well for a while, so Lizzie brought me in... and we found out that I..." he sighed. Having to say it made him realize what was actually happening. "I have cancer."

Cara's jaw dropped and her hand flew to her mouth. She hadn't expected that at all.

Jack's eyes widened. "You have what?"

Rory sighed, looking down. Austin had already teared up. "I have cancer," he told Jack again.

Jasper sighed, looking at Lizzie.

For some reason, hearing Rory say it made it worse. Tears welled in Lizzie's eyes, blurring her vision. She looked down at their clasped hands, not wanting to look anyone in the eye.

"Oh my God," Jack whispered, starting to tear up.

Rory looked at his dads. "I'm sorry."

Austin shook his head and went to Rory.

Jasper sighed, walking to sit by Liz.

Lizzie started to cry silently, knowing what having cancer could mean. She felt someone who she assumed was her father sit beside her, and she buried her face in his chest.

"Don't ever apologize for something like this," Jack said immediately, walking to him.

Jasper wrapped his arms around her, and rubbed her back.

Rory leaned into Jack, and pulled Austin into a hug. He had started to cry too.

Cara hurried over and pulled her husband and daughter into a hug as she started to cry with Lizzie.

Jack hugged his family close, letting his head hang down.
