"So what's going on?" he asked. Rory sighed, explaining. The doctor said they'd run some tests, and started to take blood.

Lizzie listened to the doctor and nodded. "Thank you, Doctor." She glanced over at Rory.

Rory sighed, watchng as the doctor left to run the tests.

Lizzie looked up at him. "You okay?" she asked as the doctor left.

"I still don't feel good," he said. The doctor came back after a bit, and sighed. "There's some news I have for yu."

Lizzie squeezed his hand gently, then looked up at the doctor. "What is it?"

"Rory has cancer," he said. "We aren't sure where or how far it's spread, but it's far enough for symptoms, and that's not good," he reported.

Rory sighed, looking down.

Lizzie's stomach dropped and her face paled. Her mouth felt dry. "Cancer?" she repeated in a small voice.

"Yes ma'am," he said.

Lizzie opened her mouth to say something, only to close it again a few seconds later. She looked to Rory, severely worried for him. "Is there anything we can do?" she asked quietly, looking to the doctor again.
