The Haldred Pack was once a very large and powerful pack. Duncan is the alpha of the pack, but he is cruel and corrupt. Other wolves in the pack are either malevolent like him or are too afraid to leave. A few months ago, Duncan ordered his beta, Wren, to gather a group of wolves for a border patrol. Two hours later, one of the wolves from the patrol, Fiasha, returned badly injured. Fiasha told Duncan that the patrol lost a fight against a bear. She reported that the rest of the patrol died or were too injured to return.
In reality, Wren and the rest of the patrol were wolves that wanted to escape the chaos that Duncan inflicted on the pack. They left the territory, claiming the eastern side of the forest as their own and calling themselves the Zerrin Pack. One day, they plan to destroy Duncan and any other vicious wolves in the Haldred Pack. Fiasha is actually a spy for the Zerrin Pack. She claims she is going on a hunt, but in reality, she leaves to tell Wren news of the Haldred Pack. The Zerrin Pack may be small, but Duncan doesn't know they exist. Duncan believes the wolves from the patrol are dead. The wolves from the Zerrin Pack are also clever, loyal to each other, and fight for justice. However, the Haldred Pack has many members, strong wolves, and no morals to live by. Nobody knows how the final battle will end, but it will be bloody and few wolves will survive.
