She was named after one of the most famous glowworm caves, the Waitomo glowworm cave.

Her favorite place to swim is in glow worm caves like in New Zealand. A harsh tempest barreled across the landscape, the wind and her own fear of storms driving her to take shelter in a glowworm cave. Never having seen one, she was perplexed yet mesmerized by what she could only imagine were stars. The soft glow and the pacific, cool waters of the cavern calmed her speeding heart and quickly replaced all of her unease with a deep sense of intrigue. The caves soon became her safe haven, a place she could find refuge, and clear her mind. And eventually, it became her home. The waters cradling her as she floated on her back, left alone to view her own personal paradigm of the universe, she lost herself in the random, paint-flecked patterns reflected in the water. She often fell asleep while drifting, dreaming of lands where fish swam in the air and birds flew in dark and light-studded waves. When awake she loves diving beneath the water, the reflections making it seem as though she was being immersed deep in the universe, as if she was the only one. The center of everything for only as long as she could hold her breath.

Why?: he likes this place for several reasons. the lagoon is surrounded with huge rocks so it is a bit hidden from the world. he can spend some quiet hours in this place all alone, concentrating only on swimming. the water is very clean so he can see his parts that are under the water and can perfect his moves until they are perfectly graceful.

Why?: she prefers clean, clear water that isn't too deep. she's ok with salt water, too, but doesn't like the way it makes her fur all crunchy when it dries. similarly, she's not too into muddy or polluted bodies of fresh water. she also likes being able to catch fish and eat them while swimming.

Name: Talise [tal liss], often mistaken as [tal leese]. It has Native American origins, though exact meaning is unknown. One source says "beautiful waters."

Favorite place to swim: A deep pool in the bend of a creek. It gets gradually deeper as you go in, bottoming out at 12 feet deep. It is 30 feet in diameter and very clear. There's a lake a few miles upstream, and with the amount of sand the water has to run over for that distance, the silt, dirt, and other yucky stuff pretty much filters out by the time it gets to the basin.

Why? That part of the creek is only a couple hundred feet from a residential area, but it's heavily forested on the far side so no one goes there except the few who know about it. It's very peaceful in the warm seasons, with nothing around but birdsong and animals going about their business. On bright days the sun shines in from beyond the tree canopy. I think this Tvetyal might have a great time if she took some friends along. X) There are lots of smooth, flat rocks laying around the basin; they can be used to dam up the creek and make a deeper pool, or to create a "spa" of sorts in the shallow end (with the most sunlight), or even just for throwing in to see how awesome a splash you can make. The basin is bordered by a high wall of clay on the far side (closest to the houses) with the deep water, which you can climb up on to jump into the pool. In my opinion (and hers?), it's better than the average water park.

It's so beautiful. I can't go there anymore without someone finding me, but I will always remember it.

Favorite place to swim: Anywhere there's water. Seriously, i watched him try to swim in mud once.
Why?: Ever since he was a tiny tvet, water was somewhere nearby. It rained all the time where he lived, so if there weren't an abundance of puddles, the rain was coming down in sheets, so thick you could see your snout and that's it. And in the rare years where rain was scarce, a quick hike down to the beach would quench your thirst. To King, if it's water, it's paradise.
