"No, dear Tempest, they won't eat you," he responded to her cautious question with a small, comforting smile. When she paused in her stride, he stopped a few paces ahead, looking back at her after a moment as he waited for her to get ahold of herself patiently. "Not exactly. They will probably be cautious of you at first, and maybe a little hostile -- they aren't typically fond of strangers -- but once they get used to you, which they will do quickly because desert wolves must learn to adapt to things quickly, the faes will try to pamper you. If you allow it, that is, because the faes that are not expecting find it fun and exciting to care for those that are, and they do the job well." The golden wolf spoke honestly, not wanting to hide anything from Tempest and have her be frightened by the wolves' hostility at first.

Tempest nods again as she catches up with him. "Hope they dont attack us." she muses to him softly. "Do you think we can take a break a few minutes? I'm tiered." they'd only been walking maybe an hour and fifteen minutes but it feels like its been forever since they left Shadow. Without waiting for a reply, she drops into a laying position with a sigh, "Wonder what they do. Any ideas?" she is asking about what the non expectants do.

Saturn smiled slightly at her words of hoping that they don't attack them, before she asked if they could take a break. "As long as you're with me, they shouldn't attack you until they get used to you." he said in a comforting tone, watching her drop down to a laying position. "Do you mind if I scout ahead? It'd be easier to figure out if there is water somewhere nearby before we get into the desert tomorrow." He also wanted to fly, but he was sure that she knew that, and he would be able to keep an eye on her even as he scouted.

Tempest smiles, her head on her paws. "Good." she says, feeling reassured at his words. When he asks if he can scout ahead the she-wolf nods ever so slightly, "Of course. Water would be a good thing to find." she curles her tail around her hind legs with a quiet sigh. "Go have fun flying, I'll see you in a bit.. but if you maybe find a rabbit I'm happy to eat it for you.'' she tells him. The pale wolf is completely serious on both accounts. She relaxes in the sun, "Be here when you get back." a sweet, if sleepy smile is directed at him.

Saturn, once he heard her say it was alright for him to go, he began to slowly pad away, so that he would be able to hear her if she continued to speak. The golden wolf had had the thought to catch something for her, anyway, considering it would give her more energy and, hopefully, make her -- and the pups -- a little happier and more comfortable, even if they would be walking for a while longer before they could stop for the night. Once he heard her fall completely silent, the winged wolf pushed himself into a lope after only a few steps, unfurling his wings and launching himself up into the air.

[we could skip to the last day of the trip if you want, 'cause really it'll just be a lot of walking, some hunting, cass flying off to scout and look for water]

Tempest looks excitedly at the green, all the sand hurts her eyes. "What a Sight!" softly exclaims the she-wolf, scenting the sweet wet sound of water. "Cass we're here! We're at your home-pack lands!" she is looking up at the pine trees. So different from the leafy oaks that is the Shadow-lands woods. "Think we should clean up before we meet your family?" her ears flick as she looks over at him, tiered of walking, but also very expectant to Go.

Cass watched from the ground as several pairs of winged wolves danced around each other, both competing and enjoying themselves or simply doing it for the fun. The golden wolf looked to Tempest at her excited words, smiling slightly. It was nice to see how happy she was to be here. The smell of the pine trees and their needles and sap was so much different from the oaks and cedars from Shadow's packlands. "You may if you'd like. They've seen me worse," he said, idly shaking one black paw to loose from the the sand from the fur between his toes.

In responce the expectant she-wolf shakes out her pelt and then gets a drink, a long one. "But they havn't seen ME." she counters him good-naturedly. Another drink, "Sure you don't want a bath?" she asks teasingly; pulling a bubble of water from the stream and splashing herself until she is clean. Then pulls the water from her fur so she is dry, "Ah, clean." she streaches carefully and then yawns. Her paws are so sore. A grin over at him, right now the pups are settled, but she cant. And hunger claws at her belly - she wont hunt right now, its wrong to 'steal' food from a pack, but water is another matter entirely.

Cassiel rolled his bright violet eyes at her words, although he wasn't going to argue with her and the eye roll hadn't been a sign of irritation. He wasn't irritated at all -- well, he was, a little bit, his paws hurt and his wings were a little sore and he was hungry. The golden wolf waited until he heard her express her cleanliness, and he was going to tell her that they should move on to have her meet the pack, when a chillingly familiar voice spoke from the darkness. "Ah, Saturn, the wolf who ran, welcome home." a pale teal wolf with lime green points and a blue dorsal stripe padded out of the shadows, her wings fluttering slightly against her body. She cast her gaze briefly to the expectant fae, giving a snort that could have been taken as laughter, looking back to the violet-eyed wolf, who was glaring at her and snarling with obvious fury, his feathered wings spread slightly and the feathers puffed with a threat. "Gaapa," he responded coolly, his pale yellow-tipped ears pinned back as he moved a little closer to Tempest so that he could protect her if the blue-green-scale fae decided to do anything to her.

Tempest squeeks in horror and terror and then snarls ferrilly, hackes raised. Not because she WANTS to fight, but because she will if she has too. "Who's that?" asks the she-wolf nerviously, swallowing as she ducks into his side when Another wolf shows up. This one emerald green and white. Fear laces her tones as this wolf stalks closer to her belly and she turns with him. "Cassiel..." she whispers, ears pinned. Her green eyes flash between the two snarling wolves (excluding her friend and to these wolves eyes mate).
