[Whistle.Concert]

He nodded. "There's not much we can do for the Pokemon that are brought in...The fights are a lot more violent than before.."
His tail flicked from side to side. "Sometimes I wish they would fight with their fists, not with their Pokemon. Though that may be because I, myself, am a Pokemon.."

Mia frowned. "It didn't sound that way."

"well sorry about that"Spear replyed looking back as a bit of shell fell of the egg.

"Mmm. I'd think that too, if I didn't think that the grunts fighting with their fists would end in even more casualty. Pokémon can't withstand everything, but they're harder to kill than people." Of course, that didn't seem to be a problem for the grunts in the base.
What was this now, a competition? The winner became leader? He supposed that's what would happen eventually. In amongst all this fighting, a victor would emerge, and Aqua would have their leader. But how much blood had to be spilt before then?

[Whistle.Concert]

Kaiba nodded. "I suppose that is true.."
His ears flicked back. "At least no one is attacking other grunts with their Pokemon. At least, not yet. I am not looking forward to the day that starts.."

Spear smiled as s big bit fell off revealing a little bit of brown, she clicked her beak together to offer encurgement to the spearow.

The grunt shook his head, both in answer to Kaiba, and as a reminder to himself not to think of things like this. Try to be happy...
He turned and watched Spear with her egg, smiling as he realised it was very nearly time.

[Whistle.Concert]

Kaiba turned as well, ready to watch the egg.
He pricked his ears, hearing voices just outside the door. Two of the younger grunts were arguing.
"I can't believe the prisoner got away..The admins are going to kill us..."
"We could say she died?"
"Like they'd believe that."
"...Does it really matter if she got away? She's going to die in the Magma deserts anyway.."
"Yeah! Wait. Wasn't she from magma?"
There was silence, before the second speaker swore loudly.

The grunt raised an eyebrow. They'd had a prisoner? Ah well, he wasn't at a clearance level to know that- unless he had to fix something in the holding room, that was.

Spear smiled as the beak poked through,it would be any second now.

The Magma grunt paused in her walking around the base to call softly: "Plusle? Minun? Where are you, honeys? I'm not gonna hurt you; just wanna make sure you're okay."

Frifth, meanwhile, was hopping down yet another corridor that looked exactly the same. He sighed.
