Depends on the Rare and how early/late it was released. If their offering something of early '09 it's unfair to them. It also depends on the person
But I'm also not great with gaps, so I could be wrong

{no matter what rare from 09 is offered, it'd unfair to the 09. the dog is worth an early 2010 rare at most.

I would say that an 09 rare would be overpay for the dog. An early 10 rare would be plenty. :)
