Norman turned his head to the speaker, slowly smiling. "Hey, sleepy head." He said gently, moving over to the bed. "We're all here." He sat down in the chair besides the bed. "You had us scared for a long time." He said, clearing his throat. He looked around the room again. "It's so dark in here...how are you feeling, Graybay?" Jayden asked, turning his attention more towards her than the room. "Feeling better?"

Graybay sat up again, trying not to wince. Awful, she wanted to say, though she resisted. "I feel fine," she said with a shrug, rubbing her arms. "Do you know when I can get out of here?" she asked, looking over at him.

Norman gently shook his head. " To be honest, I don't know. You got run over by a car, Graybay, you're lucky you're even in here." He smiled, the heart monitor slowly beeping. "Probably a while. They have to run some more tests on ya." He looked down, asking, "What happened?" He clasped his hands together. "You got hit pretty hard..."

Graybay frowned. "It wasn't that bad." she said, though she wasn't really sure if it was or not. She hadn't been told what her injuries were yet. "Um, I wasn't paying attention. I was gonna go pick some more flowers across the street, but it didn't work out," she lied, looking outside instead of at him.

Norman furrowed his brow. She's not looking at me and her voice is shaking...is she lying to me?
Instead of saying anything, he nodded. " Yes, I understand that. Things can happen so fast." He shook his head and cleared his throat. "Have the doctors said anything to you yet?"

Graybay shook her head. "Nah, but I'm pretty positive I have a broken rib or two." she said, motioning to her side. She groaned and laid back on the bed. "I'm bored. I wish they'd fix me up and let me out of here." she complained.

Norman laughed. "I know the feeling. One time, when I was called out, I broke my leg...I was in the hospital in Washington for almost a month." He chuckled a bit and looked at Graybay. "I was bored stiff! The only thing I could do is play with the ARI and watch tv." He glanced over at the clock. "Well, I'm glad you're alright." He said with a smile, grabbing her hand.

Graybay glanced down at their hands and sucked in a breath of air. "Is that girl named Madison your girlfriend?" she asked curiously. She had her suspicions but hadn't really found out for sure yet.

He repositioned and smiled. "Yeah..." He answered. "Yeah, she is. She's Ethan's ex, too. Boy, is he going to be mad at me!" He laughed and let go of her hand. "Blake doesn't know, of course." He smiled and looked at her again. "Want me to send someone else in?"

Graybay tore her gaze away from the window and finally looked at him. "No." she said with finality. She really felt like he was the only one who cared about her, even if it was only a little bit. How could she blame them, though? She was the one playing them all like cards, after all.
