New lil' subject:
So, when I was reading The Hobbit for the first time a few years ago, I never really thought about Bard's back-story much. I mean, I figured he had a family and a life of his own, but it only just recently hit me at the impact of it all. When Smaug attacked that day, it wasn't just his life that was on the line. I'm sure Bard thought about that, but there was more to it. There was that of his family, friends, and fellow soldiers; but the pressure that was on Bard when he took aim for Smaug must have been near to disabling! It takes someone very strong and committed to take a stand as Bard did.
It looks as if The Desolation of Smaug is going to draw out Bard's loyalty and dedication to his family a bit, which I am thankful for. The movie needs something down-to-earth and touching like that, while not necessarily adding to the original story.
Forget this Tauriel/Legolas love or what-not.. That certainly wasn't in the book!
But Bard was.

Well, reading more about PJ's intentions with Turiel...She is supposed to represent the other elves that where mentioned but never had a part. And remember: We don't really know if they are romantically interested yet.

I'm hoping Bard will have more of a part in the movie than he did in the book. I didn't like how in the book some "random guy" killed Smaug. I thought that was kind of stupid. Hopefully they show him more before he does that so he doesn't seem like a "random guy."

Aye, I know. c; Everyone else just seems to feed off of that, so I tease when I spoke of Legolas & Tauriel. I'm not really sure of any romance concerning Tauriel, but dajiofijeajfioejaofjdiaojf we have already discussed this. We'll just have to wait and see at this point. Each day draws us closer to December! .D. Hehe~

The answer if no tauriel is 600 years of age O.o meaning that legolas views her as younger sister most likely. O.o
