She paused, contemplating his words before shrugging her shoulders. "You probably just misheard them," she murmured, then looked back and forth. "Want to race?" She asked, despite the fact that the chances were that she would lose, with her short, clumsy legs. Ravenpaw didn't dislike much about herself, that is, besides her height. Ravenpaw was short, very short. So small that she could easily be mistaken for a kitten. Ravenpaw always envied the others. They were larger than her and more powerful and well-built. Their bodies were ready to train and fight and hunt, while Ravenpaw still struggled to walk without tripping over her own paws. It made for a very embarrassed Ravenpaw and the last thing she needed was a weakness. Ravenpaw put up a strong and brave front, especially for a cat her age and size.

coldpaw's ears perked as she heard snakefang speaking to lilypool. apprentices and mentors, going out on patrol. the she-cat's sea-green eyes immediately darted towards her mentor, who just so happened to be her mentor. this, she was proud of though she tended to be quite smug with it as well. after all, it wasn't like just any apprentice could train under the leader. that must mean that coldpaw was special, yeah? well, she sure thought so. squaring her shoulders, the oddly colored female walked over to owlstar, not having bothered to attempt at taming her unruly orange, white, and black pelt. once in front of the older feline, she cleared her throat and spoke up, not giving her leader any real chance to knowledge her. "owlstar, can we join the patrol too?" she questioned, mentally crossing her paws for a positive reply.

stormfur nodded in greeting as snakefang passed him on his way to lilypool. being as close as he was, the tom couldn't help but overhear their conversation. with a small sigh, he hefted himself to his paws, tail flicking as he padded over to the couple. 'morning, snakefang, i couldn't help but overhear your conversation, and was wondering if there was room for me to join the patrol?" the tom's voice held it's usual calmness, and though his eyes stared in snakefang's direction his attention was focused solely on owlstar.

Listening to Owlstar, Wolfspeckle nodded, remembering that it would be leaf-bare soon. "I completely forgot about leaf-bare..." Wolfspeckle mused, before allowing Owlstar to continue speaking, perking up at the mention of Freckle's kits. "Ah yes, she's supposed to be due soon, isn't she. Very exciting. I'm hoping once they're old enough, I may be able to train one myself." The tom nodded. He hadn't had an apprentice before, so it would be interesting for him to have an apprentice, before he got too old to teach. In the midst of his thoughts, Coldpaw made their way up to them, asking if she and Owlstar could go on one of the patrols.

"I should probably make myself useful, too," he commented, flicking his tail. "Get some hunting in before lead-bare comes, methinks."

Owlstar flicks her tail to her apprentice, about to say hello when her apprentice already offered to come. "Alright. And you may come along, too, Wolfspeckle. We will be hunting along as we go." She murmurs. "We could always use experienced warriors to help us with training our apprentices." She purrs, glancing at snakefang and stormfur. "Where is your apprentice, Snakefang?" She asks, flicking her long tail.

Foxstride ripped through the undergrowth, chasing a rabbit. 'One last
leap' he thought to himself. He leaped falling on top of the rabbit, and
at last held it in his mouth. The massive cat had been hunting all morning,
his mouth heavy with prey. His ran back to camp with large strides, and lay
his kill in the pile. He took a mouse and headed to the warriors den settling in
the dirt by the den.
