Welcome to Bayard!
Bayard is the busy center of the Medieval world. From it's bustling marketplace to the grand castle, it is all under the rule of King Alaric and Queen Magnolia. The King rules the land with diplomatic intelligence and a strict anti-magic policy, his young Queen sitting quietly by his side, along with her ladies-in-waiting.
While this town seems peaceful at first glance, their fear of any kind of magic shakes them to the core. For along the narrow winding roads, live witches and warlocks, both good and evil.
Though not all of these magical beings are as dangerous as people say, a handful want revenge on the King who forced them into hiding, and are willing to destroy anything, or anyone, who dares stand in their way...
History:
Bayard was once a magic friendly land, where all kinds of creatures lived happily with one another. The Kingdom was ruled by His Highness, King Elisedd, the kind and just. However, one day, the King fell ill, and his son, young Prince Alaric, entrusted him to the care of a Warlock physician. The warlock physician, however, failed to save the king, though he had the best of intentions, and kind King Elisedd passed away, leaving the kingdom in the hands of his sixteen year old soon.
20 years later, the kingdom has become a fiercely anti-magic community. Though some believe that it is unwise to force the magic folk into hiding, most just want to know that they can live in safety, without fear of magic interrupting their lives.
Among the magic people, there are good and evil. The good work tirelessly to keep the evil from taking control of the kingdom, all while trying to keep their identities a secret.
WITCHES AND WARLOCKS:
The difference between witches and warlocks, other than the gender (in case it's not obvious, witches are female and warlocks are male), is that witches can control a certain element, only one, but they have almighty control over it. Warlocks, while they can't control a certain element, can only use magic if they have a spell. They can't control death, love, nor can they defy the laws of science. Also, warlocks need a special object through which they channel their magic. Not necessarily a wand; anything will work.
Both witches and warlocks have animal familiars. They can speak telepathically, but only to their witch/warlock. Also, this must be a real (and realistic) animal. No dragons or anything of that sort. Also, no lions, or anything like that. People would notice a large animal following someone around. A cat, for example, would be a normal familiar. That does not mean everyone needs a feline familiar. Also, witches have male familiars, and warlocks have female familiars.
RULES:
-This is literate, so I want somewhere between 200-500 words PER CHARACTER.
-All other CS rules apply.
-Non-witch/warlock characters are needed. Please make normal humans as well.
-The King and Queen are both NPCs. They can be spoken for by anyone. But please, if someone already made the Queen non-confrontational, don't go describing her as the type to get into arguments all the time, or anything of that nature.
-Also, both good and evil warlocks and witches are needed.
-Keep genders even

Full Name:
Lady Imogen Santorian
Age:
17
Good or Evil:
Good
Occupation:
Lady-In-Waiting to Queen Magnolia
Personality:
Imogen is a hard-working girl. She knows what she wants and will stop at almost nothing to achieve her goals. She doesn't understand the concept of obstacles, because she has never let anything get in her way. In fact, she's quite competitive, and definitely an over-achiever. She puts on a brave face almost always, never letting anyone see if she is upset or hurt, usually brushing any insult off. Imogen rarely lets people see her true personality, a sad side effect of having to keep large secrets. She has a rather hard outer shell, but behind her tough exterior is an incredibly kind person and a good friend. Sometimes, if she thinks a person worthy of trust, then maybe she'll show her sensitive side. Imogen has a pretty good sense of humor, and is quite flirtatious. However, despite her flirty exterior, she does not love easily. Imogen is fiercely loyal to Queen Magnolia, defending her whenever she hears anyone say anything negative about the Queen.
History:
Imogen was born to Lord Terrell and his wife, Lady Dahlia. They were a wealthy family, well-off and close with the royal family. Lord Terrell never knew that his beloved wife was a witch. He had never liked the idea of magic much, so Dahlia chose not to tell him. However, Dahlia knew that the oldest daughter she had was to be a witch. She had two sons, Alteir, the oldest, and Fionn, the younger, before she had Imogen. She was hoping to have another boy, but instead had a healthy baby girl. Imogen’s mother told her she was a witch as soon as she was old enough to understand, so she could keep it a secret from her father and Alteir, who shared Lord Terrell’s view on witches. However, Fionn was more open-minded, so Imogen told him her secret, and he accepted her for who she was. Lady Dahlia, also an air witch, taught Imogen to use and control her powers, and most importantly, keep them a secret from all. She became the Lady-in-waiting to the Queen when she was 15, and knew how important it was that the Queen never learn she was a witch. However, she found the young Queen, only two years older than herself, was kind and soft-spoken, and became a dear friend.

Alteir has a pretty neutral opinion on the topic of magic. He knows there are good and bad witches and warlocks, just like there are bad and good people, but he's generally alright with magic.

Full Name:Celandine Paschal
Age: 17
Good or Evil:Good
Occupation: An assistant chef at the castle
Personality:Celandine, also known as Cellie, is a free-spirited type person who just loves to do her own thing. Sure, she knows when to follow orders when given, but she will never follow them blindly. Celandine will never do something to harm others or anything that she feels is not right. She is the type of person who always has a bright smile on her face and a kind heart to match. Celandine has been noted to have an optimistic personality and always looks for a bright side in a situation. She always has this sunny exterior, even when she is hurting on the inside. She feels that she shouldn't dump her own troubles on others so she doesn't like to express when she is upset or troubled. She also rarely ever asks for any kind of help, liking to feel independent. Celandine at times can also be a bit childish and have a large amount of energy. She at times also has a tenancy to space out into her own little world away from reality. Usually the head chef, Remilia, scolds her every time she does space off in the kitchen. Even so, Remilia is one of those people Celandine truly respects and trust. Though Cellie feels awful that she has to hide the biggest secret she has from someone like Remilia. She actually just hates lying in general and feels that everything would be less complected if everyone just told the truth. That and she is not the best of liars so her older brother, Gareth, to help her keep her secret, well, a secret.
History: Celandine's father, Elwood Paschal, is an ordinary mortal man who runs an apothecary while her mother, Melissa, was a witch. Her father knew that her mother was a witch and loved her anyway and had married. Before the death of King Elisedd and the large genocide of many witches and warlocks, her family had owned a very successful apothecary that was rumored to have a cure for almost any kind of illness. Yet, some were wary of going there because of Melissa was rumored to be a witch. The couple did not care and they were happy with their small business. By the time King Alaric took rule they already had a son named Dominic and later had Gareth. Celandine was then born two years after her brother. Her mother was actually quite lucky to be alive this long. Eventually, when Celandine was a bit over a year and a half year old, her mother was suspected as a witch and executed. Her father then hid Cellie to try to keep her safe. She does not remember her mother but has heard only stories from her bothers and father.
Growing up, Celandine has had no magical guidance or teacher. Because of this she has been trying to teach herself to control her element from trial and error. Though this was not the best of things because not only is Celandine a witch without any kind of teacher, but she is also a fire witch. So when she found out she was a witch and started to experiment with her powers she might of accidentally lit the house on fire. No one was hurt and their home was rebuilt eventually. Her father told the neighbors that he was boiling water for a medicine he was making and the fire accidentally got out of control. Luckily people believed him. After that Elwood forbid his daughter from using magic saying it was dangerous. Of course she still trained herself in secret, except tried to be as careful as she could. Like controlling the cooking fire or causing the flames to not burn her skin.
Now her eldest brother, Dominic, is married and moved out of the house. Celandine got a job working in the castle as the assistant for the chef, Remilia, feeling that they were low on money and she should get a job. Her brother Gareth decided to get a job in the castle as well to look after his sister and make sure she doesn't get herself into trouble.
Appearance: Click!Element: Fire
Familiar: EsmondOther:Younger sister of Gareth
Full Name:Gareth Paschal
Gender:Male
Age: 19
Occupation:Stable boy
Personality: Gareth is a sensible hard-working type guy. He usually likes to set goals and will do almost anything to accomplish them. The same with making promises. Once he has some kin of task, goal, or promise he will not rest until he accomplishes it. For example, hiding his sister's secret. He works hard everyday to make sure Celandine does not accidentally blow her secret of being a witch. Gareth can also be very protective of those close to him. He can also seem quite strict and cold at times. Maybe even a bit inpatient and have a short temper that he tries to control. Though underneath that thick outer shell, is a kind guy with a soft spot for animals. He does have a gentle side to him that can be very loving but it is usually hidden.
History: His father, like him, is an ordinary human while his mother was a witch. Gareth was born around the beginning of King Alaric's rule. He and his older brother, Dominic, knew of their mother being a witch and knew that it was a secret they should hold for the rest of their life. Back then he was more carefree than he is today. He first learned about the secret of his mother when he was three and Celandine was only a year old, Dominic was seven. Gareth actually found it quite interesting and didn't know why so many thought magic was such a bad thing His mother, who was an earth witch, helped so many people and saved many from death by using her magic and natural knowledge of plants to make potions. Half a year after, their mother was trailed and executed for being a witch.
Gareth was the one that told his sister that she was a witch. He thought she would be an earth witch like their mother, but to his surprise little Cellie controlled the element of fire. Even Celandine thought she would be an earth witch until she accidentally turned a rose into ash instead of making it bloom. Of course after that Celandine sill continued to practice magic. Though it usually lead to trouble, like burning the house down. No matter what Cellie did, Gareth felt responsible. He was the one that told her about magic. Sometimes he thinks that if he hadn't, then she would of never found out and been a normal person, or at least safe from any danger. That's why he took the job at the castle working at the stables when Celandine took her job in the kitchen. That, and they did need the money and apothecary was not really his thing. He always had a soft spot for animals so working with the horses was not so bad for him. It also let him be relatively close to his sister so he could pull her out of trouble. Since he works in the stables, that left their eldest brother Dominic to work in the apothecary and eventually take it over.
Appearance: Click!Opinion on Magic:He has neutral feelings about it. He knows there is good magic, since his sister and mother were witches, but he is also aware there is bad magic as well.
Other:Older brother of Celandine

(And now for the return of Artair! o 3 o)
Full Name:
Artair d'Vesci
Gender:
Male
Age:
19
Occupation:
Rogue Knight
Personality:
Living on the darker side of life, Artair is a bit of a daredevil and generally doesn't follow orders if a friend is in need. He is exceedingly loyal and commonly disobeys orders to help out a friend. Accompanying his loyalty, Artair is rather rash and does whatever he feels is necessary for the situation. He does have a strong sense of justice, though his temper sometimes clouds his judgment. Although he does try to do what he thinks is right, and though is opinions are not easily swayed, he does have a tendency to have a more negative outlook on the world. He sees things as they are and confronts them head on, even if it takes a few tries to get to the next obstacle. Artair can be a bit of a flirt and goes after any girl with a pretty face, though it's rare that a woman actually captures his fancy.
History:
Born to a poor family, Artair never had an easy life. His family lived day to day, not knowing where their next meal would come from. Deciding to change that, Artair became a page. When he turned fourteen, he became a squire. After two and a half years, he became a knight, loyal only to the king. For six months he was a knight of the king's guard, and a week after he turned seventeen, he was kicked out of the guard for disobeying orders and yet the mission was only successful because he disobeyed orders. Nevertheless, Artair was forced to leave, his knighthood still intact, though with one alteration: he had to become a Rogue Knight, a knight with no master. Eventually, he gave up having his position restored, so he took to traveling around the country, trying to find his place in the world.

Opinion on Magic:
He's fine with it, so long as he's not the person it's being used on.
Other:
