Stormchaser looks around for Coldwing again with no luck. The cat seems to have disappeared. Shame, too, as the brown tabby had liked him. Oh well. Stormchaser perks her ears, turning to try and locate Greyeye. She sees him quietly watching the others and limps back to his side. Stormchaser flops down onto her rump, her awkward way of limping tiring her paws. "I hate being hurt," she mutters irritably. Stormchaser had always been the tough one before. Now, being under the care of the medicine crew, she feels like a helpless kit. The thought makes her shudder and she looks around camp. The clan would need fresh-kill, and soon. Dens need to be arranged and cats settled in. She sighs. There is so much to do, and she can't do anything to help.

Grayeye's ears twitched as Stormchaser stomped over, in a limping kind of way. He layed down beside her, hoping she didn't think this was awkward. He stretched out her neck and licked the top of her head. "I understand, but you should really stop worrying and get some rest," he meowed soothingly. Grayeye continued to lick her back and neck, smoothing down her ruffled and messy fur. His good eye watched Stormchaser, looking for any sign of discomfort, then he would stop. But for now, he drew is tongue over her fur in long, relaxing strokes.

Stormchaser lets out a resigned purr. Normally she would protest Grayeye's sudden affection, but now she finds herself too tired and aching to care. Her injured paw, the pain now reduced to a sore, uncomfortable aching, rests lightly against the ground. Amber eyes half-closed, Stormchaser allows herself to relax for the first time since that morning. The rushing water can still be heard, if you listen close enough. The tabby puts the memories out of her mind. The sound of the roaring waves will haunt the she-cat forever, even now the thoughts make her heart pound. The rhythmic rasping of Grayeye's tongue brings her back to the present and Stormchaser revels in his warmth. His steady presence reassures her and, for once, she's glad to be under someone's else's care.
