:And very later I have learned
To accept some friends of ridicule
My whole existence is for your amusement
And that is why I'm here with you!...

Marlis was still making a ruckus when all of a sudden, a fast blur of silver came into her peripheral vision. Before she could turn her head and identify the figure, Marlis had been smacked into the ground, causing her to let out a surprise yelp and to get dirt into her eyes and mouth. As her eyes watered from the sting, Marlis decided to looked up and into the snarling face of Lark, one of the high faes. She was a very pretty silver wolf, very elegant and much bigger than her, but she had too much dignity, not that Marlis minded. The partially white omega took a deep breath to calm herself. With that breath, Marlis wasn't scared from the surprise anymore. She made sure to lower her ears, but did not look away from Lark's lovely light brown eyes. Marlis naturally broke into a smile, her tongue lolling out and her tail was slightly wagging, the omega seemed fine with this.
"Good morning Lark! You look amazing as always." she commented to the silver wolf. However, Lark merely snarled at her to not bug Crow. Marlis wasn't trying to bug anyone! She just wanted to talk to Crow...With that said, Lark left for other matters and Marlis was now alone once again. She let out a sigh. It's only been five minutes and she was already getting scolded. Marlis decided to wait peacefully for another five minutes. If Crow didn't come out then she would stat to call for him again. Yep, that sounded like a good idea! Marlis wasn't known for learning from her previous experiences. She couldn't understand why everyone always had to be sad or uptight. Life is too short for such negative things. Marlis realized that herself when she found the body of Daniil, one of the gammas of the pack. He was near the edge of a large body of water that connected to a gorgeous waterfall. It looked like his head had been smashed on something very sharp. Most likely he had been caught in the current during a terrible storm and fell from the waterfall and hit one of the pointy rocks. It didn't really matter how it happen, the fact was that Daniil was dead and she had to deliver that news. She couldn't bring the body back because she was much too small. That was probably one of the toughest days of her life. She was pretty sure Mikhail hated her much more after that. In grief, he did give Marlis a beating that she would never forget. Life really is too short...
Marlis was now deep in thought with those memories when suddenly, she heard the voice of Crow. It took her by complete surprise, and the fae couldn't help but let out a surprise yelp and jump a couple feet away. Her bewildered eyes turned to Crow, who she immediately recognize. There was only two black wolves in the pack after all. She relaxed and immediately went into excited mode, ignoring the pain that was still in her eyes. Tail wagging, ears perked up, and having a tough time staying in one place.
"Good morning Crow! Ah...you're as awesome-looking as ever....I wish I was big and had muscles...All I can do is hunt..." she finished with a sad pout. Marlis had went from greeting to suddenly voicing out her envy. She wasn't exactly known for focusing. Thankfully, she immediately remembered what she wanted to talk about, causing the excited Marlis to jump around a little.
"Crow! I almost forgot! So I was out hunting yesterday...um, with the others of course." she said, looking at the ground really quick before focusing back onto the alpha.
"The prey...was very nervous, very tense. It was easy pickings! You notice how much food was brought back to camp yesterday, right? It was a lot! When the animals are nervous, they dont know what to do. I can tell it's like that today too. The morning birds are out of rhythm. They're singing is only brief and short notes. That's not like them. They're tense too. When animals are tense...um that usually means the weather will change rapidly. Like into a storm or a drought or something. They pick it up and get very nervous." she finished her explanation/observation with a big breath, hoping she wasn't boring the alpha.
"So what I want to get at is that hunting will be very easy today. So how about we have a big hunting group? All the high wolves with all the low ones. Hunting is great, and wouldn't it relieve a little stress for the poor wolves that had to deal with that meeting last night? Oh, and we would have food for weeks! Come on! Doesn't that sound like fun?" she proposed, her eyes getting bright from each word she spoke. The look got thoughtful though.
"...Don't you think it would be good for you to go on a hunt, Crow? You're never happy and have a lot of responsibilities. It wouldn't hurt for you to have fun everyone once and a while...right?" she finished in a softer voice, tipping her head to the left. Many would say this wolf was acting quite out of place right now. And that is true. But in her defense, this wolf just wanted everyone to be happy.
