"The" Rares List Guide - Do not ask about new UR's!

The purpose of the Rares List Guide is to reflect current trade values, not set them.
The UR Aussie currently goes for around twice the value of the UR Pot.
Placing the UR Pot higher than the dog is illogical.

Looking at the trades that have been posted, the UR Pot is consistently going for Nons and UR Cucumber. This implies that UR Cucumber belongs down around Non level with UR Pot.

I haven't seen many Pot for Banana trades - I am thinking Banana is ok where it is, I don't see it around very often. I still maintain that we had a huge influx of cucumbers last rerelease compared to their first rerelease when they were ridiculously rare.

That all said - it's mid November. All of that could change next month when the rerelease occurs. It is not uncommon for the rarity of the UR Pets to change in relation to each other each rerelease, they certainly have in the past - I can dig up some examples if needed.

I'll have another look at this when I get home tonight, I need to think on it some more.

That influenced these pets badly, bad demand crashed down on them hard and i feel the ur pot deserves a higher spot then just a non. Its obvious rarer then the nons if you go by rarity tags. Bad advice influenced trading as it is now D;

We could switch the spots tho? Put the ur dog with the banana above the coon tier and the cucumber and pot below the coon?

Ah - I guess you have a point. I was thinking more from the "let's not just drop everything for demand" side but since the flower hasn't been placed yet that doesn't really apply.

DaDwarf - yeah I was thinking about that too. It seems like as soon as a new UR comes out it instantly gets placed at a non unless it's much more common like the cat. Looking at the most recent URs that's how it seems to go.

I wouldn't be for moving the Aussie that high honestly. Most recent trades are showing a non and some or close to two nons. But that's just from what I have personally seen.
And as the list says it takes into account demand -and- rarity. Not just what pets are going for. If that were true, then many pets would have to be moved.
If the rarity of a pet can keep it down below what it goes for, the same should go for rarity keeping a pet above what it goes for.

definitely on that but there's no way we can prevent those advices
from going around and from what these trades have been releflecting
as well as taking rarity into account..
these aussies have been going mostly for more then a non
but less then a coon. and the pot with its unconsistancy has
been going up an down. which is why I recommended before
to place them together to even out demand and rarity?

i dont know.. placing the aussie up there doesnt seem fitting

Just some quick thoughts until later -

They used to have a huge estimate range of non - dogtag (so 1-3 nons), so sitting them either with or directly underneath the Coontail (2 nons, right?) would be my first guesstimate for their value at this stage. I'll have another look at the trades when I get a chance tonight.

I would have to agree with you, Androids are becoming increasingly harder to trade for. I think it is just demand, but I'm not sure.

On a slightly different note, it is getting very hard to aquire Alien Store Dogs. They don't actually seem to have much demand, but I've had to offer advent lists before now. I'm well aware its very unfair, and I'm overpaying, but I just wanted to keep you guys updated on the Aliens status. (I personally don't feel they should make it to the rares list for a good few years)

Re the Ice Cat placement, both of the trades shared had it valued at Nonballoon & Low Tox? I think we need more trades collected on it before placing, we don't want to undervalue it based on rumours and miscommunication. I heard a lot of balloon dog swaps, but don't see any actual trades for that, or did I miss them?

Was the point system abandoned or is it still in the works? Sorry for asking, the search function isn't working for me

I know Noleah was working on one and I'm still interested in it; the problem is finding time for the others of us to look over it (my time is about 0 right now) :<

I have a spreadsheet with 2 different pet point calculations (my own based on the gaps draft plus another; it might be Noleah's? Or yours, I think Fattu gave it to me, to compare). Did I send it to you a while ago or no?



Suggestions for discussion
These are suggestions for discussion, not a list of what is going to happen.

1. Lower UR Cucumber, but leave Banana where it is.
The initial release saw very few cucumbers out there, but the last rerelease seemed to add a significant supply to them. The banana supply seems about the same, I'm not sure it needs to move. Cucumbers seem to be trading around non-value, and have been swapped for UR Flowers. UR Flowers seem to go for Nons, with Cucumbers being the main outlier in their trades. This implies that Cucumbers and UR Flowers are both currently trading for around Non value.

2. Move Sunback up to Coontail.
Sunback is very popular, and just went OMGSR as well. It is the same rarity as Nonswirl & Nontag, but its rarity seems to be putting it at twice their value, implying they have twice the demand of the Nonmoons.

3. Move UR Mint to share with Nick Unicorn
Using the gap list draft results in these pets being equal in value. If the UR Mint's value hasn't changed, it should probably share a line with the Unickorn. Otherwise it might be best to re-evaluate it. It seems to be pretty rare and hard to find despite its low demand, but I haven't exactly been looking for one.

4. Move the --- Big Gap --- above Nick Unicorn, or recalculate its gap value.
When you look at the gap list, there is virtually no gap between Nick Uni, UR Mint and Spotted Tribal. If the Big Gap isn't moving, then the Nick Uni & UR Mint need their gap values recalculated, because something isn't right in that area of the list. There does however seem to be a sizeable gap between the GWJ and the Spotted Tribal, assuming a GWJ + Sept = Non. If the gap between them is larger, then the Big Gap should be between GWJ and the Nons, but I don't think that's appropriate personally.

5. Move all Sorbets to the same line.
The are the same rarity, and their demand seems to be about the same too. It seems to be the general consensus that they belong together.

6. Move 09 UR to share with Red Toxic
These pets seem to be interchangeable. Remember that the rereleases will be affecting the UR pets more than the regular releases; I would assume that by now, 09 UR is rarer than Red Toxic, but this is just a guess. I think I posted a couple of trades a little while ago in this thread of 09 UR & Red Toxics being swapped; it might be a good idea to find more trade links to confirm this?

7. Review UR Grape trades to see if it should move up
UR Grapes seems to be rarer since the last rerelease - in fact I saw more cucumbers around than grapes, which makes no sense considering the huge difference in their rares list values. I think now would be a good time to try and get an idea of how many grapes are floating around, and see how they are trading (keeping in mind that once a pet is placed on the Rares List, the list does anchor its value somewhat, especially if it's not a high demand pet).

8. Collect Store Pet trades for Orange Cerby, Red Cerby, Drink Me, Eat Me, Brown Sleipnir and the Liontails
All of the store pets need reviewing, but these ones are the highest value ones and have seen quite a few rereleases so might be the best place to start with trading collecting.

9. Give the Natural Blue/Grey Rat a name on the front page

To be honest, I'm very disappointed with just how bad the demand for the UR Mint is.
I was trying to trade mine for a year & a half, but so many people just hated it. ;-;
I finally traded it recently, but down instead of up.
The person got over 4 replies on the FTT saying that it was unfair to them, when it was unfair to me by as much as a CEG (?)

Can we focus on the URs and getting stuff related to that done? The other stuff can be dealt with after.
Our priority is the URs and all that and we keep getting distracted. We respond to ideas and then it's just left alone and we never come to a consensus. We need to discuss it without thinking about other things or just forgetting about it. It's mid November. It needs to be done.
We can look at the other things when we are done with it.

I suggest everyone read over the past few pages of discussion and think about what makes sense for the URs and what's related to them.
