As for the lines, try to use a smaller sized line, and so on. For cats, the ears are more or less rounded triangles, and the eyes are more almond shaped. The muzzle is a bit smaller, and the forehead is a bit longer. Try to make the tail smoother (It helps to imagine bones inside of the tail, then think 'Would bones be able to do this?' since bones aren't made of rubber).
All of these tips are basically just for a more realistic drawing- I'm not really sure what to do about cartoon drawings either.
