Attican
73 - Brute - Keeper
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Attican had been laying for only a short while when Pipaluk had nearly silently approached him. She had fooled him, he thought she had been sleeping where in fact she was actually only having her eyes closed. His head turned around swiftly when she had all but gotten within touchings-length of him, her aged paws still working their apparent magic on keeping absolutely silent. He was just about to ask on "who" exactly remembered "who" well when the female already changed directions in her speaking.
"Those two being out their on their own troubles you."The Keeper's eyes widened, going up and down the spindly wolf in contemplation. It was rather strange to be honest, taken upfront to his thoughts. For him he was usually the one giving knowledge like this.. not receiving it. He listened to her gentle rasping voice, taking in the information. It was very strange, very strange indeed to hear recollections about him,
him, in his youth. No one remembered that, no one was old enough or around anymore to ever remember anything of the sort like that... but yet here sat this wolfess before him with even more recollections than his own. To be honest it was puzzling.
"My name is Attican." He eventually spoke after her own introduction, bowing his head down as if he was talking to the Alpha in a meeting. He did not know her exact age, but he'd guesstimate for her to at least be in her early 90's. Perhaps even more. TangleTail. The name brought distant memories, like as if those recollections had been places uptop a dusty shelf and forgotten about for years until just now re-found. TangleTail, TangleTail.... His face brightened, realization dawning upon his face.
That time in his life had been a whirlwind for Attican. He was still a Fighter, but had been appointed to be the next upcoming Keeper to success the previous one when the time would come. After the decision had been made, the brute had been whisked this way and that, all of a sudden becoming a part of meetings and clans, and of course, much learning of the pack's history in order to prepare him for his someday position. There was a lot to take in and it took most all of his efforts to grasp onto the vastness of it all. TangleTail had just been another meeting he had been to during this learning period. Now, Attican's brain wracked with memories, trying to filter them to that day. Fuzzy faces of wolves floated in his head as he tried to put Pipaluk's statement to a previous face. However, due to the time being past and the fact that both the wolves had aged so much since then, he was unsuccessful with a matchup. He still remembered the day though. "W-Wow.." Was all that he managed to say, before once again the old wolf had changed back the subject yet again.
She spoke of the leading siblings again, causing one of the Keeper's ears to droop unknowingly. In every bit of honesty he loved the two of them, both Ash and Resin had a place in the brute's heart. He'd watched the two grow, and even despite his mental incapabilies sometimes, Attican knew that Ash tried being the best that he could for what he had. He was proud of them both. The air around the two Elders fell silent for a while, both appearing to have fallen into their thoughts. If only the fates could be bargained with. Tf he could he would trade the rest of his life for even a spare day for the both of them. Actually if push came to shove Attican would be willing to do this for pretty much anyone in the pack.
He gently sniffed, the air around him giving no sorts of indication of anything. Scentless and without information. He sighed, craning his head back to Pipa who appeared to be staring out between the trees. "It is a child's thought to wish for everything to come out cleanly... Oh, but what a hope it still is, isn't it? The thought of everything ending right." He blinked, sighing an even deeper, much heavier sigh. "I worry too hard and perhaps care too much Pipaluk."
