Aspyn Creek Stables: Black and Blue roan pintaloosa

Postby That Weird Dragon » Sun Sep 15, 2013 3:20 pm

Antleer

The lovely forest dwelling drafts which have antlers! Both male and female are born with antlers and keep them throughout their life time, wich is around 50 human years. Male antlers are bigger than the females. They can be any natural horse coloring, yet most are paints with brown coloration or solid brownish colors. More rare antleers are dappled or brindled or colored like their cousin, the deer. They stand anywhere from 13 hands high to 18 hands high depending on how closely related they are to the deer this breed originated from.

A rarer Antleer Not only does he have both brindles and dapples, his coat isn't brown or does he have feathering around his hooves
To win this lovely lad please tell me how his herd reacted to his birth, being so unusually coloured. I am looking for a very well thought out history, please make it over a paragraph at least... Art and any extra is very much welcome

Still thinking of a unique one

Breed:
Antleer

Gender:
Male

Age:
3 years

Height:
15.6hh

Coloration:
Black and blue roan pintaloosa

Markings:
brindling

Personality:
After his rough beginning, he feels the need to prove himself often. So, he sometimes tries to act as though he is dominant, although his herd doesn't always approve. Few seem to favor him and he is one of the most distant, sometimes he doesn't even appear to be part of his herd. This was his original personality though, as it has improved a bit by the current time.

History:
He was born very early in the morning, and the lighting didn't allow for a decent view of the newborn's unique coat. By the time he stood for the first time, the sun had risen and the herd got a good look. At first, they found it hard to recognize him as a part of their herd, eve though he was so young. His particular herd was rather plain, with few coat exceptions the didn't include the norm.
He was not rejected though, as he appeared to have a lot of fight in him. As he grew, he was not bullied, but he was ignored, and not always seen as a true member. Few mares took an interest in him as he became older, and his solitude lead him to develop a temper, although this was not irregular, due to not being past 3 years at the time. But he didn't know what the norm was supposed to be like, so he took it more harshly. He was often seen off to the side, and not amongst his fellow horses.
However just a couple months ago when his herd was migrating towards better feeding ground, he was the first to detect a large bear that was coming their way. After they had fled, he had gotten a bit more acceptance. The acceptance was rare, due to his young age and the breed's log life expectancy.
It lead to him becoming a bit more involved in the herd and his temper improved. He still has a long life ahead of him, and it may or may not be lonely. But he's still trying to make them see that he's just another horse, and more.

I'll add a name in a bit
