Artemis ; she lets only her loved ones call her 'Arty'.

Dragon Name Meaning:
I wanted to name her something that would have a lot of meaning. So I decided to name her on the Greek Goddess Artemis. While Artemis is mostly portrayed as a fearsome huntress and archer, she is also the goddess of wilderness and more specifically.....a goddess of the moon. And since this dragon's glowing white marks reminded me a full moon night on a cloudless sky, i thought the name fit her.

History:
The merchant who had discovered Artemis' egg had dismissed the white and black stone as a 'piece of rock'. For many years, the egg rested in the stronghold of his ship, as the merchant battled the challenging seas and traveled all around the globe. Then came the day, when, one fine day, the merchant's clueless daughter stumbled upon the hidden and now forgotten egg. Attracted by the smooth texture of the stone she took it upstairs to her room. In the morning, however, she woke up to discover that her father had sold the rock to a customer last night when they were visiting a land. Like this, the egg traveled through the hands of many people and many years passed. Finally, one fine morning, as the egg was re-discovered by a farmer on a river bank, the egg hatched on its own, in front of the farmer and out sprung little Artemis. Before the farmer could gather his wits, newborn Artemis had already spread her wings and took to the skies, a bit wobbly at the beginning. She found an abandoned castle on cliff by the sea, which she made her home as.

it is a greek name, and i've managed to find the meaning; "little star." hesper has a badger's build, meaning she's small and compact. but, from her glowing markings and the personality i have in mind, her name is merely a reflection of the brightness from her soul. she is a small, bright force in the world and thus why i believed this name would make sense.
