New and I promise, my last OC!
Anyways, this is Mourning Bell! He's a pegasus [obvious] that works as a priest and funeral director.
His cutiemark is a dove flying off with lavender in its mouth.
Mourning Bell, or, Mourning for short, lives in Ponyville as a priest that also directs funerals. His usual work wear is his cardinal-inspired robe. He is 27 [in human years], and lives alone in a two story home. His house isn't near the busy street, and is closer to the outside of Ponyville.
Mourning Bell is a pretty dull stallion, and can be classified as a buzzkill by lively ponies. He has a rather dark sense of humour, considering the fact that he is often in a morgue. He has an affinity for birds, his favourite being rock pigeons.
Oddly enough, Mourning's favourite hobby is tending to his garden. Rather than growing vegetables, Mourning owns a flowerbed in the front of his home, though the inside is decorated with many pots full of varying from tulips to roses and to everything in between.
He does not work everyday, since there are a few other preachers as well, and on his off days he often takes a stroll to the park, feeding various birds with seed as well as enjoying the laughter in the air of the fillies and colts, watching them play their little games. Mourning has a soft spot for young ones, critters and ponies, and can be somewhat protective of them. Though he does give a good lecture to any filly or colt that stomps towards the nearby birds to scare them.
Some of his more positive traits would be that Mourning is a very good listener, and will often give the best advice he can. He can keep a secret without speaking a word to others. He's a very trustworthy pony, and never goes back on his word. He tends to come a little early to everything, never being late or exactly on time.
Mourning also had a very strong connection with his mother who passed away years ago. Mourning, because of his relationship with his estranged father, has since been rather wary of other stallions, and can be rather distant from them at a first impression. Though, because of his childhood dependence on his mother, Mourning has since always been in awe of mares, and does his best to treat all mares like a princess. Mourning feels that no stallion is better than the mare that bore him, and stands by that phrase to this day.
As for his cutie mark, Mourning's cutiemark represents different things. The dove itself represents his interest/occupation, which is being a funeral director/priest, as well as making those that are deceased appear alive again. The lavender plant represents his hobby of tending his garden. The dove also represents his affinity for birds.
What do you all think?
