Ferris Nottingblume

Her hair was wispy and white today, falling down her back, just short of her hips. It was a mess of curls, braided with gull feathers, wooden beads, and other little trinkets. She wore a white, patchwork skirt that fell to the ground in the back- yet barely reached mid-thigh in front, a tight long sleeved white shirt and over that a very tight creme-coloed corset that barely contained her bust. That was just how Ferris was. Her socks were striped grey and white, coming up to her thighs, and lastly she wore tall grey-healed boots with buttens all the way up the side.
She ran quickly- leaping and bounding across the ship until she came to the mast. She threw herself at it, climbing the rope beside it until she found herself at the first sail. From there she would jump to the next rope and then the next, climbing higher and higher. Her hands burned- but she didn't care. She wanted to see land.
She balanced up there, holding on to the very tippy-top where she sat on her toes.
She grinned- there it was! "LOOK!" she screamed happily "Look!"

Luckily for him (and it really was lucky), his rooms were situated right across from the Royal Apartments of the Queen, and so, her ladies in waiting. And the Duke just happened to glance towards the open door as he strode confidently along, and caught sight of Queen Eruanna's back, her crown resting atop her auburn hair. And next to her was the twenty three year old lady in waiting, Jacquette Lisette. It was truly remarkable that she had not been married off yet to some fine man with a wealthy fortune. Although, her parents were commoners, and as such not many men were willing to bed her, never mind marriage. And yet she was a beautiful woman, one of great interest to Alexander.

Pausing, the Duke moved to stand beside the doorframe (in the corridor, of course, he would never watch as the Queen was dressed - she was a married woman, and it was likely he could be executed for treason if caught) and leaned casually against the wall with his shoulder, waiting.

Que fait-il?Que fait-il? Jacquette found herself tensing. It didn't take her long to notice that the Duke had seen her and she was certain that seductive thoughts were running through his mind. It wasn't so much that that was frightening her but it was that he was here and looked like he wasn't going to move. The whole idea made her skin crawl. She had heard dark rumors about this man and although it fascinated her it also repelled her. Jacquette knew that Alexander was a dangerous man. She would have to avoid him as much as possible... but it was proving more difficult than first thought and so trying to transfix herself on something different, she looks briefly around the room.

The room in which she was standing was authentically designed for a queen. There were large windows, colours of bright blues and gold and for a moment she found herself admiring the colours before then seeing out of the corner of her eyes, the duke move and come closer to the open door. Momentarily she looked his way and hovered her emerald eyes around him before then looking back the Queen. However, in a split second she thought that it wouldn't be the greatest impression to have a man outside her chambers and so curtsying, she bowed her head low and made her way out of the room. Her eyes locked with the Duke's as she made her way and although she was not confident she held her head high and offered the smallest but most meaningless smile she could." Is something on your mind, Duke Bonflis? The queen is currently getting ready for court but with you standing here do you have something to say?" She walked round and out of sight of the people in the room and clasped her hands together as her eyes scanned his face. She was very uncomfortable standing here but keeping her ground, she grudgingly awaited his response.

Louisa awoke, the sun falling over her dark hair and her pale face. She was content today, happy to simply be alive and at court. Dragging herself from her wonderfully plush bed, she called her her servant, Marie, to come help her get her gown on for the morning. She would change at least three times in the day, but this morning he wanted to wear something rather special. "The cream and yellow one please Marie," she asked of the girl as Louisa brushed out her hair. Something about today was promising, she could feel it in the air. After having help get her gown on and having gotten ready, the Dowager Duchess decided to call on the Queen this morning, if she was ready, and began to make her way down the long hallways to the Queen's chambers. As she drew nearer she could hear a bit of a commotion, and picked up her pace slightly.

Hearing the cries that land was in view, Victor dropped what he was doing and followed most of the crew to the railings. Sure he might get punished, yelled at, even whipped. But he wanted to see France so desperately. He wanted to see it with his own eyes, so that if he got confined to the ship for the rest of the voyage, at least he had seen a glimpse. He looked down at himself and wondered if he would stick out in France. He had heard that it was a pretentious and fancy country, where everyone wore the very best of clothing and the very latest of fashions. But surely the lower classes dressed something like him, he tried to reason. He looked up and spotted Ferris, it must have been her who had made the call. "How far off?" he yelled up to her.

Ferris leaned off the mast, careful to hold onto the nets that were wrapped around it. She grinned calling down happily, her accented voice calling "Three hours time, boy!" she nodded looking over the crew. She swung herself down, landing heavily on her boots "Nearly there. I can smell the royalty. Perfumes and ballgowns and what not. Maybe I'll get one for me!" she churped. She then waltzed around in a circle before stopping dead in place "O'course...There'll be a -few- adjustments to be made..."

Estelle quickly picks up one of the silver trays on her way through the large kitchen, soon finding the goblet of wine she had to take to the Queen. She places it on top of the tray and swiftly leaves the room, making sure to keep her balance so the wine didn't spill. Though she was of no important role, she walked with her head held high and on her way to the Queen's chambers, she made it a point that she wasn't going to take notice of anyone, no matter how much they stared or whispered.

As she drew nearer Estelle noticed a little bit of a commotion going on outside the Queen's room and she narrows her eyes, eyebrow raising as she briefly wonders what could be happening. Though, while she was distracted, something caught her foot and she tripped, dropping the tray with a clatter as she falls to the fall. Are you kidding me?! she huffs, closing her eyes and biting her bottom lip, knowing fully well she had made a complete fool of herself in front of some important people

Seeing a servant come on the other end of the hall, Louisa made a point of walking right by the Queen's door, not only to try and see what was going on inside, but to try and talk to the girl she knew as Estelle. Surely enough, Alexander, the Duke of Normandy stood outside the Queen's chambers, and one of her ladies in waiting was asking him to leave. She sighed and walked up to Estelle. "Bonjour, Estelle," she said cheerily as she played with her fan. "How are you this morning? Bringing the Queen her morning wine?" People often forgot that Renee had once been a maid of honor for the Queen and quite friendly with her too.

"Ah, don't give me that Ferris," he said referring to her calling him 'boy'. He hated being called that, seeing as he was one of the younger crew members, it happened often. "You're only a few years older than I am." He followed her a bit, trying to stay near the railing and her at the same time. She had always been a curiosity to him, in the way she dressed herself, and carried herself and talked even. "I can't really see you in a French silk gown, Ferris," he replied trying not to crash into her as she stopped. "Especially if you don't alter it."

Jay's arms ached from his hard work. He had cleaned every gun, knife and cannon in the damn ship, including those on the crew's persons. It was a job for someone below his rank, a menial task for a servant or slave. Of course, Jay's rational side nagged, If you hadn't complained about your tiny room, you might not be doing this. Jay sighed, setting the now-dirty polishing cloth aside. He pricked his ears as he heard the call of land. Like most of the crew, he abandoned his post and ran to the top deck.
Looking out across the azure sea, he could just make out a dark smudge against the horizon. "It's just land." he muttered, slinking back into the shadows before he could be reprimanded about his work. He bitterly busied himself with re-polishing his already spotless daggers.
They had been a gift from his father, the daggers. Right before he drank himself into excess, he gave Jay the daggers as a birthday present. They had seemed huge to him then, like two large swords. Now they were mere kitchen knives, but they fit to Jay's fighting style better than any other blade on the earth. He had been tempted to trade them for something bigger a few times, but he always came back to his two knives. Most laughed at his choice of weapon, but they stopped laughing as Jay slit their throats with his "butter knives".

Yes, her name was strange, but was it strange enough to merit a curled lip and undignified snort? Isa quickly slapped smile #23 on, the polite one that pleased people. The man in front of her drank lightly from his glass, smirking at Isa before him. Isa's parents had reached an all new low in her suitors. This one was worse than Louis Blanchard, the stuttering fool, and Michael Pineau, the drunk. This one was rude, and he was looking at Isa's low neckline in a way that made her very uncomfortable. "I'm sorry, but you must excuse me to my chambers." she smiled number 23 again as the rude suitor looked appalled and confused in equal measures. "I feel unwell, I cannot continue our discussion." she excused herself, walking stiffly out of the room until she reached her chambers, where she nearly collapsed on the bed.
Why couldn't her parents find someone who was witty yet polite, who could laugh at the other nobles with her? It was infuriating, how many she had rejected. It was also starting to look pathetic to the public. A young girl, as beautiful as she, rejecting possible husbands left and right. Louis wasn't too bad, she thought weakly. Better a dumb fool than a rude one.

Named after her deceased mother by his father's broken heart, Felicia could easily be the strongest image of innocence, that'll cross your way. being naive as she is, considered an easy catch for those with bad intentions. Pure as someone can be, Felicity shows kindness towards everyone in need of a warm smile. but on the other hand, this lady can easily see through your eyes. knowing went to be delicate, and when to be though, depending on the intentions that she sees in you.
This is when she shows her complete stubbornness. You can't make her talk if she doesn't wishes to tell what she hides. She'll most likely spit in your face. To talk about the things she hides, you must gain her trust. It may be hard. but not impossible. and once she sees the good in you, she will be a true friend, standing more for others than for herself, easily taking risks in the process.
Felicia is well known as an artistic person. usually writing her deepest thoughts in her beloved notebook, that by the way, she doesn't let many see. Naive, is another characteristic to be added to this beautiful lady's personality. She tends to believe in what others say easily. still, it's very hard to make her change her mind, when something gets to her head, it would be more simple to just follow her ideas. She know this, and sometimes can use it against her enemies.
Felicia can also be very playful around people she likes, sometimes behaving childish and wild, leaving her polite attitude aside, to run shoes-less around the tall green grass, to dance under the cold rain, or just travel far away to let her anger behind. Talking about temper, even when this pretty brunette tends to be very patient, to get on her bad side isn't the best idea. She can be calm, and tends to hold back most of her negative feelings. but when you go past her patience barrier, she won't let anything rest on the tip of her tongue. she'll just let it all out. her words in situations like these, tend to be hurtful. and sometimes, realizing this, Felicia sincerely apologizes. Since honesty, comes along with her. She completely dislikes liars, and people tat thinks they are better than anyone else. Also, Felicity has a good sense for romance, loving those kind of things. Like Shakespeare, novels and even drawing couples as a Hobbie. Felicity loves roses, and says it's because of the red color these have, considering red a symbol of passion. This girl loves music, usually using it to calm herself down when nerves try to control her. She is caring, unselfish, but very sensitive. it isn't hard at all, to get her hurt. mostly, if you talk about her past. She has a weak side for children. also, she is overprotective over all her beloved ones, protecting them with her life if needed.

Past is to be forgotten...
Born in a noble family seventeen years ago during the coldest December France ever had, it all was quite dark for her from the beginning of her life. Felicity's mother, died when giving birth to her. leaving his father alone. after this, he turned into a depressed man. his attitude towards his young daughter, was cold and aggressive. blaming the child for his wife's death. Despite all this, Felicia didn't turn into a cold person, usually supporting his father, and not complaining about the hard work he used to give her. As years passed by, Felicia's submissive attitude seemed to fade away, causing to be more rebel towards his father, as she got to understand it wasn't fair. Her relationship with his father has never been good. she doesn't seem to want him near most of the time. but on the inside, she still holds a warm spot in her heart for him.

She said they like it were the most vile word she'd ever spoken. "I'll get myself one-a-them dressies...And then I'll wear it like no french 'as ever seen!" she laughed a bit, twirling once more- her curly hair flinging out around her. "I'll be the most beautiful girl in France...I missed home." she said quietly...
