Life in Deadwood, South Dakota isn't much different from life in any other small town. Most of you have lived here for as long as you can remember. Some of you are even able to trace your family's history here as far back as your Great-Great-Grandparents. Others are just moving in. But, most of you have one thing in common: You're a Shifter. You can shift into a type of animal. You've been able to do this since you were twelve years old. For some of you, it's genetic. Your parents or grandparents were a Shifter as well. For others, you're the first. Not everyone in Deadwood is a Shifter, and those who aren't cannot know anything about the Shifter world. The Shifter community is a tight-knit clan, with an Alpha, a Beta, and Elders. You have a bond with your fellow Shifters that runs deeper than you can really explain. They're like a family, or a pack. And just like in any family, drama is inevitable. Will you rise through the ranks and become the Alpha? Will you betray your fellow Shifters and become a loner in exile? Perhaps you'll even fall in love.

An enormous lake located about 20 miles from the town. It's referred to as the Deadwood Beach because it's so big.

PERSONALITY- Marcy is a pessimist who wants nothing more than to be an optimist. She tries to see the bright side of things, but she has a hard time doing so. She has a very strong, blunt personality, that tends to get the better of her. She's sarcastic, clever, and has a stubborn nature that she needs to mature out of. She tries to put on a "tough" facade by lashing out at people unnecessarily, but it only makes her feel guilty. Marcy, when not trying to impress people, has a natural motherly instinct. She cares deeply for those in the Shifter Pack, and she's terrified of doing them a disservice. She feels a lot of pressure to be perfect, knowing that very soon she will inherit the Alpha title from her father and grandmother. She just doesn't want to let anyone down.
HISTORY- Marcy is a town local. She was born and raised in Deadwood, and knows almost everyone in town. She lives with her mother, father, younger brother, and grandmother in her grandmother's house in the forest. It's a large, wooden cabin with an upstairs and extra rooms for any lost or runaway Shifters. She was raised around the Shifting community, and knows the history and legends like the back of her hand. Being the eldest child of an Alpha, she knew that one day she would inherit the title.
Likes: Hot chocolate, rainy days, being outside, playing football or soccer with her brother, her best friend, Hamish, chicken pot pie that her grandmother makes.
Dislikes: Being told what to do, feeling left out, anything banana flavored, and strong alcohol.

Distinctive Features: She has beautiful, dark, smooth skin and has no blemishes at all. Her hair is chocolate colored as curly. She has lovely, deep brown eyes with very long eyelashes.
Dating: She is too young to date anyone.

Personality: She loves to tease and joke around with her friends, and she fairly close to her parents. She can be rude and immature at times, but she just needs more time to grow up. She is charming in her personality and is known to make fast friends with others.
History: She just moved to Deadwood about a year ago, and the little town has grown on her since then.

Personality: He isn't much of a "people person". He prefers smaller crowds of two or three, compared to, well any more than that. He doesn't have many friends, only a few selective people that he enjoys being around. Though he loves to be around his friends that he adores, he usually judges people even before getting to know them. Like I said, he loves the people he's around most, all people grow on him at some point. ( I will probably add more later on. )
History: Both his mother and father lived in Deadwood since, as far back as they can remember. They were both so proud when they found out he was a shifter, and was going to be apart of the pack. Nothing else really important.
Likes: His friends and parents. He likes the forest, and everything in it. He enjoys the quiet and sometimes solitude when he can get it. He likes to sleep a lot. He loves cold weather and rain. He likes to doodle things sometimes as well.
Dislikes: He can never watch when people or creatures are in any kind of pain, this makes him unable to help anyone who is suffering from something. He hates anyone that will not just shut up when he tells then to, but doesn't everyone? He doesn't like listening to consistent noises.

She's a bit of a nervous character, being pretty unreliable when it comes to fights and feuds. She's a peaceful thing. But- if you mess with her loved ones, she -will not- hold back.
-History: Nao was born in upstate New York where she grew up for nearly all of her life. She attended collage early- passing full year classes in half the time of a normal student. She went to an art collage in New Pultz, New York to become a painter- and graduated with a full degree in art.

PERSONALITY- Nora is incredibly kind hearted, gentle, and sweet. She avoids confrontation at all costs, and is remarkably loyal. She takes on a very motherly role in the pack, and makes friends easily. Nora cries when she gets angry or frustrated, and her face turns an embarrassing shade of red. She tends to sacrifice her own happiness for the sake of others, and even if she's feeling her worst, she tries to put on a smile for everyone else. Don't let her sweet exterior fool you, she can be quick and snappy if she's in the right mood. She often gets this way with Ansel, an old friend.
HISTORY- Nora moved here with her mother when she was thirteen. Her mother had grown up in Deadwood, and knew a good number of families in the town, and Nora visited the town often to see her Grandparents. Having a Grandfather for a Shifter, Nora was always very in tune with the Shifter Community. However, her mother saw how much pain the pack had caused their family, and didn't approve of the lifestyle. So she moved away, and prayed that her daughter wouldn't take after her Grandfather. When she found out that Nora could shift into an Irish Setter, she made plans to move back to Deadwood, where at least there Nora could be with other people like herself.
LIKES- Warm drinks, sunny weather, long walks through the forest, helping others.
DISLIKES- Being yelled at, feeling cornered, swimming, being in the water, feeling like she can't help someone, hurting others.

Personality: Ansel is a curious, wandering soul. He often seeks out danger, and feels confident that he won't be injured along the way. He's a bit of a jokester, but never at someone else's expense. He takes people and what they say very seriously, and always tries to avoid just waving someone off. He's easily offended and sensitive, although he would never admit to it.
History: Ansel has known Marcy and Hamish and the rest of the locals his whole life. He grew up with them and loved every minute of it. They're some of his best friends. Other than the whole Shifter thing, his life has been very average. He is currently attending college.
