[Resin]

Ash-

Off to the side he waited. Watching closely as each wolf ate until their stomachs stopped their protests. Little scraps broke out here and there, but nothing was too serious that he had to intervene. His thoughts strayed and soon he was wondering again about the whereabouts of his sister.

Had Resin found the old wolf, Attican? Were they both laying at the bottom of the ocean? No. He refused to believe that they were dead. He felt in his gut that they were alive. In the morning if they didn't appear, he would go after them and the pack would wait.

The white male had just hollowed out a patch of snow when he heard a loud commotion. Turning, he saw the straggler male, Grimshaw, he thought his name was, snatch up a pup angrily and throw her. In an instant he was on his feet and was rushing across the tundra.

Again Grimshaw would be bowled over, but this time things would be much worse. Ash was not his sister. He was the bodyguard. He didn't have to be diplomatic. Besides, he was in charge and no one would say anything about him roughing up a mentally weak, cruel brute such as this.

Ash dove forward and latched his canines into the other brutes shoulder. Much as he had done to the mammoth, he shook his head once his teeth found purchase. They popped through the stragglers flesh and with each shake that flesh ripped a little.

Now, this brute may have thought of himself as tough, but Ash was big. Very big for Great Wolf standards and he definitely knew how to use that size to his advantage. Releasing the brutes shoulder, Ash them latched onto his spine and, using his bulk, spun, bringing the wolf with him and flung him the same way that he had done to the pup, River.

Blood marred Ash's white coat and he snarled, his fur bristling to make him even bigger. Stalking towards the straggler, he released a great snarl. "You eat nothing. I don't know who you think you are, you mangy cur, but in this pack, abusing a smaller, weaker member is not tolerated. You would do well to either remember that or leave." He looked upon the bloodied wolf in disgust. "If I were you, I'd leave. I'm going to be watching you closely and if you put one toe out of line...you will regret it."

Turning away, Ash went to check on River. A few wolves had gone to her side but made way as he neared. Taking the pup by the scruff of her neck, he carried her away from the mammoth and laid her down in the snow between his forelegs. Gently, he cleaned the wounds that the brute had inflicted and waited for her to wake.

River
4 summers; female grey wolf pup

River couldn't see anything but ear moved slightly at the sound of alot of wolves surrounding her and the distance sounds of growls and howls of pain. After what seemed forever River felt herself being lifted off the ground by her neck and carried some distances before being placed down, River started to wonder who it was that had carried her off and secretly hoped it was someone she knew well.
Feeling a tounge brush past her side River stared to whimper as it touched her wounds, her thoughts raced to thinking that whoever carried her way thought of her as food ... opening her eyes quickly River looked up to see the Alpha's Brother above her glad that it wasn't the horrible wolf that has cause alot trouble for her the whole afternoon ever since that bridge. Whimpering with fear from remembering everything ... Almost fallen of that icy bridge, being throw across the air and those eyes those dark eyes glaring down at her that male brute was horrible and mean.

River thought that most pups unlike her would have been fine after what she has been through, whimpering she looked up at Ash with sad eyes although she never shown any sad emmotions everything from her mother leaving to almost falling from a big height and being throw came crashing down on her. River tucked her tail underneath herself and not really caring if Ash didn't mind she crawled slowly but closer to his chest and snuggled into his fur tears falling down her muzzle onto the cold ice.

Grimshaw
27 year old Male Loner Wolf

Without warning Grimshaw felt big teeth sunk into his shoulders and while he was shake Grimshaw could feel his skin rip slightly. He howled in pain and tried to pushing the much big wolf off but wasn't able to eventually the released hold and before he could have time to turn around and lunge right back. He was picked up and flung threw the air like he had done with the pup, although Grimshaw had thought that the Alpha of the pack was a softy this wolf was not making him wonder if this was the Alpha's mate.

Grimshaw crouched down trying to make himself smaller as the White fierce Brute came stalking up to him snarling "You eat nothing. I don't know who you think you are, you mangy cur, but in this pack, abusing a smaller, weaker member is not tolerated. You would do well to either remember that or leave." Grimshaw stood up slowly and let out a growl ready to lunge at the wolf but something hold him back maybe it was the look of disgust or the fear of what this male wolf could do "If I were you, I'd leave. I'm going to be watching you closely and if you put one toe out of line...you will regret it." he watched as the male wolf left and walked over towards a small group circled around.

After thinking about it Grimshaw decided to stay with the pack but keep a every low profile until the whole group was closer south then what they are now.

Xani
- Female - 21 - Fighter -

Xani stepped back from the rest of the pack, watching as each pair crossed the bridge. It was obviously dangerous, but Resin tried to make it look easy. Her little act didn't seem to be convincing anyone, but what did Xani care? She kept scanning the area behind them for predators, though she thankfully heard and saw nothing dangerous.

Xani turned when she heard someone muttering about not having a partner. Not wanting her to die, Xani wuffed at her. "You. With me. We'll go last." She didn't leave room for argument. She was pretty much 4th in command at this point, and it suited her fine. When it was their turn, she set out before Layak. Her strong paws gripped the ice tightly, and she only had to stop once to brace. Once across, Resin called to her. "Of course." She turned to the pack to make sure everyone was paying attention before giving the order.

She lead them quickly in the direction Resin had specified, the smell of blood growing stronger in her nostrils with each step. Her mind drifted as she walked, thinking mostly about the stragglers. The fae, Curse, didn't seem to be nearly as bad as the brute. He had almost killed a pup. If something happened like that when Resin wasn't around, Xani would be the one to leave a mark on his hide as a reminder.

As the group rounded the corner, Xani's eyes widened. They had taken down a mammoth?? Smirking, she trotted ahead with the rest of the pack and started eating. Her ears perked at the sound of a whimper, and anger flared when he saw the brute harm River once more. She stepped towards him, fur bristling. She didn't get the chance to attack before Ash, however. She watched as they tussled, smirking when Ash won. She snorted in his direction before she continued to eat.


Junco
- Male - 15 - Omega -

As everyone started breaking off into groups, Junco saw River trot over with another brute. He just shrugged and looked down at Bellow. The poor pup probably couldn't make it alone, seeing as how Resin had to rescue River. Junco had almost lunged after her himself, but the alpha had beaten him to it. When it came their turn, he stepped forward. He reached down, grabbing Bellow by his scruff.

He walked slowly but steadily, his smaller form helping the wind break around him easier. He had to stop a few times, as everyone else had, but made it across safely nonetheless. He collapsed on the other side, letting Bellow go. He moved over towards River to see if she was ok. Though she was scared, she was unhurt. He thanked Resin silently for rescuing her before turning towards the brute that had almost killed her. He watched as he slinked away, a small smile coming to his features when Resin bit him.

As the group followed Xani, Junco's nose caught the scent of food. As soon as he saw it, he walked up to it and dug in. Crossing the bridge had drained him. He ripped off a chunk and dragged it away. It was a bit bigger than he intended, but Bellow could just share with him if he wanted to. He looked up when he heard a yelp.

River had bitten the brute. As she was sent flying, Junco was torn between attacking him and checking on River. He turned and bolted towards the pup, stopping beside her. Ash came to clean her, but Junco followed. He sat near the pair, his eyes trained on the pup. "She's going to be alright, right? I told her to stay with me..." He hung his head. "I'm sorry I let her go with him... I should have watched more closely..."

Curse

Cure sighed in relief once their 8 paws touched down upon the snowy ground on the far side of the ice bridge. The Pup had handled everything well enough she sighed shaking the tension from her limbs as the pup pranced around feeling quite proud of himself apparently. She felt the urge to snip at him to calm down, but before she could she watched as Resin attacked one of the other Stragglers like herself; she was about to interfere, as she felt almost like a spokesperson for her fellow loners, then stopped when she realized what the idiot had done. She turned away sniffing the air catching the scent of food, she turned her head and head butted the male pup and swung her head south towards the smell of food again.

"Let us go eat," She grumbled at him before heading in the direction of the food, she soon reached the sight of the kill, and couldn't help but be in awe of what the Alpha and the Beta had brought down. She licked her chops to clear away the sudden build up of Saliva watching as other wolves grabbed chunks of the meal, she actually tensed ready for the attack when she watched Grimshaw grab a hold of the female pup and toss her aside. She was going to have to have words with him that was for sure again feeling responsible for any of the other stragglers. Tired of waiting she made her way to the kill and buried her head into its side and ripped a huge chunk off and began eating it happily.

Mirage

Mirage blinked when the female shoved him with her head and then headed south; that's when he caught the scent of food, oh so much food. His stomach growled loudly tensing up against his spine. He'd not gotten very little of the last meal, and the quick intelligent side of his brain, that didn't prerfer sleep to doing anything else pushed him forward, he soon over took and passed the fae, reaching the huge Mammoth in only a few minutes. "Oh wow!" He yipped out and dove in with a happy growl, ripping huge mouthfuls form the kill eating as much as he could and then some. He didn't stop til he was over full and felt bloated.

With a heavy groan he padded a few feet away from the carcass and slumped down into the snow panting from over eating, but already feeling heavy, full and content, he slowly began cleaning his face and paws of the blood on them not even minding when the fae came over and lay beside him and imitating what he was doing as she watched the rest of the pack.

Attican

73 - Brute - Keeper

Attican smiled at the Alphess's words, it seemed true the two did seem to think rather alike. The brute was proud of Resin, proud of what she became as a leader. She truly worked hard to always be just and fair in every situation that came up to her, hardly ever seeming to falter in her judgments. Noble was the best word that he could come up for it.

"Alas to fate..." he joked quietly, a mildly bemused chuckle in his voice.

She explained more about the mammoth, breaking down some of the hunting tactics that she and her brother went through. It reminded the brute of his previous friend Kantuk, when they too were younger. The two were nearly inseparable, many had assumed them to be brothers and not just seasonal litter friends. They also hunted exceptionally well, having a decent enough strategy to pull down healthy meals for the pack when they could.

Attican faded out to sleep on these good memories, pressed lightly into Resin for warmth and her the same to him. He dreamed lightly, getting true, restful sleep.

Doing a minor timeskip until morning here for Attican. I'll only post again when everyone else's wolves go to sleep/wake up for the next morning. Don't want to pass over anything if anyone else has posts they'd like to make between that timeskip.

The breaking of light of the sun over the horizon set up the big male's internal clock to rise. An eye peered open, glancing out at the surrounding scene before him. The sky was a rosey hue of orange and pink, the sun just beginning to cast long shadows across the white snow from it's lowered angle. His head raised gently, still feeling Resin sleeping next to him. He wondered how the pack fared last night, hoping all was well on the other side. The bridge still loomed before him, a barrier that he had yet to cross. If everyone could get across it, well, then he would too. While still daunting, it still didn't seem half as bad as it had in yesterday's receding light.

The brute swallowed, his stomach growling lightly. He took a mouthful of snow into his maw, passing time.

Resin-Alpha Female-30 years old

Resin dreamed.

There was no sound; nothing moved; no one was with her. It was as if she was someone else, observing herself. The big black and grey wolf sat in the middle of the forest, looking healthier than she'd ever looked. Her coat was silky and shone brightly in the wavering moonlight above. Her yellow orbs were bright and clear. A look of utter peacefulness rested upon her muzzle.

Suddenly she was in her own body, looking up to the sky. Above her and all around her, hundreds and hundreds of tall, white barked trees swayed in the now present breeze. Atop these white trees were millions of blood red leaves. The leaves whispered and laughed, ecstatic to be tickled by the wind. Periodically there would be a break in the sea of red, allowing slivers of bright white moonlight to rest upon the lone wolf.

She closed her eyes, soaking up the moonlight as if it gave her a sort of power; as if she needed it to live. As this thought entered her mind, she felt herself growing stronger. Energy filled her body and she rose to her paws, instantly surging forward to run at top speed through the forest. As she ran, the wind from her body kicked up waves of the deep crimson leaves. The sound of the leaves flying along beside her was exquisite to her ears.

Gradually, she began to notice something odd. The white-barked trees had begun to move. They split, sprouting two tall branches that looked like long arms. The base curved in upon itself, giving the look of crossed legs. The trees began to quiver and undulate, bending backwards and forwards, swaying from side to side.

Then she could ear them. Resin pulled her ears back, trying to shield them from the sound that was pouring forth from the trees. They were screaming. Every single tree released a deafening shriek. It was as if they were immense pain. Each tree had a different tone and a veritable symphony of torturous screams echoed around the wolf.

She had stopped and had brought her head between her forelegs, using them to try and block out the sound that threatened to split her skull wide open. She cracked an eye and saw the red forest engulfed in billowing flames. The fire devoured everything that it touched and it quickly spread towards her, looking to eat her next.

Resin saw movement within the flames and kept her eyes wide, locking on to it. A creature covered in wolf furs walked out of the fire unharmed. It walked on two legs and had a curved stick in it's hand. It came towards her, making strange whooping sounds. Out of the fire, more and more of these two-leggers poured, rushing towards Resin.

The scenery flashed. All around her Resin saw blood and corpses. The two-leggers were skinning the members of her pack. The two-legger that had first walked from the fire looked to her, it's beady eyes locked onto hers. Upon it's back it wore her skin, still wet and dripping.

The last flash brought her back to the red forest. It was whole and beautiful once again. The trees moved, forming two paths before her. "Will you choose the right path?" A whisper drifted past her ears.

Resin woke, panting hard. She took great stock in dreams. Worry filled her gut. When the decision came, would she choose the right path? Or would she lead her pack to destruction?

((Everyone is on their way South. They just crossed an ice bridge. They ate mammoth. Resin and Attican are on the other side of the ice bridge. The pack is waiting for them. Ash is in charge while Resin is away. River was injured by Grimshaw and she's with Ash. Time for sleep. (: ))

I don't have the time to get online every day, and when I do I have a lot to read to catch up that doesn't have anything to do with my character in the first place. I don't think anyone's really involved with Ginkgo anyways, so I'm just going to pull her out of the rp if that's alright?))
