I find it supremely annoying when folks completely fail to appreciate that all the many specials we have been given recently take up time, effort and resources well over and above that expended in producing x-sets of monthlies, which are also still produced. And all for free.

The easter bunnies event in particular stands out to me.

Twenty-Eight new adopts, new lineart, beautifully hued & shaded and generally made gorgeous.

How many new Easter Hunt items were there?! Again, new lineart, colouring/shading, testing, implementation.

An awesome event system designed, tested, ran and adjusted on the fly, also requiring the temporary use of an expensive faster server required to deal with the assault of folks refreshing like mad trying to find the banners (and with them, the bunnies, eggs, animal eggs, etc).

This could start another 2nd gen discussion: people think they're worthless since they're so common, but they don't even think of the time spent making them. I know how long it takes to draw and design new pets, then set up all the coding and upload it.
But no one ever said that the normal pets were worthless, just that we miss trying to trade for those really rare pets and trading away those extra rares for wishlist pets. If there were more rares, there would be more trading and pets would be harder to get. But no one said the normal, common pets weren't good enough. Some rares might not be as pretty as the common ones. I, for one, think the common blue Shima is prettier than the rare green one. I'd much rather have the blue than the green, and just because the green is rarer, doesn't mean it's any better.

A lot of people that joined in October had Julys and Augusts. I was one of them, and I was happy that my pets were still there, but I really only think they should go to the pound if they're over a year old (in other words, not now, but in a few months). Just clearing things up because I'm not saying all accountless pets should go to the pound. And I'm surprised that a lot people now think that I'm greedy and trying to steal pets from other people. This thread was to help other people, not me...

Well it could be about a year but still people could come back.I never thought I would come back but I did.(even when it's not a year)And even when they go to pound all teh ''unwanted'' schould go out first but people keep dumping them in pound (even when tthere are a lot people that would love to adopt them!)

Another thing that annoys me, there's not enough really rare pets these days. We should get more, like the joker :3 People would go insane! XD It just seems like normal monthly pets are all either common or uncommon now D:

I agree.I now there where the valentines and the b-days but there not really that rare as the joker and sock dog or even teh Juli's and August's.maby for newbie's they ''hard'' toget but for older members that have almost completed 08 and maby need not more then 4 09 pets needed.I would love more rares cause at teh moment im getting sickofthe Juli's and August's.(not that i hate them.they are just that hard to get and Im a person that's needed to learn to get paitent ) But ialso think that it's looks like there no rares in 09 cause a lot people came by in 09 and then you got more adoptions hten normall.Just my opinion!and I understand that it is hard to make the adoptabled I mean it's making a lot stress,Specially when Tess is looking also for a new staff member!

I don't agree. How do you know that the person doesn't just have the pets without an account? I played for quite a while keeping my pets on my website, but I still checked them daily. Some people just don't want to have an account because it's easier to stick them somewhere and go off, particularly if you're forgetful. Which is worse, not having the pets on an account, or having them on an account and forgetting the password?

I think this is just pure selfishness. I'm sorry, but you don't know these people. Would you care AT ALL if the pets weren't rare? If the only pets you could adopt without an account were 2nd gens? I think not. The ONLY reason there's any complaint or discussion about this is people feel that pets that people have without accounts from July and August should go to the pound.

Quite honestly, there are plenty of users who HAVE accounts who adopted pets then left and never checked back. Some from July. Should their pets also go to the pound?

Please note that I am NOT trying to be accusatory to the people who have stated that they don't want the pets themselves. I am specifically replying to WizardCat. It's not in the least bit unfair. Those are someone's pets, and rare or not, they BELONG to someone. *lousy analogy* If someone has a summer home which they visit once every two years, it still belongs to them. That doesn't give someone else the right to squat there, even if they NEVER COME BACK.

My opinion also:
I do find it a tad bit annoying when someone doesn't have an account and has the pets you want, but I don't let it take over my life. First of all: They are just virtual pets. Even though I still love my babies, they are not real. And I know it is fun to collect things and want to get the most rare of them, but people have to understand, they are pets that belong to someone. Maybe you're right, maybe the owners don't care about CS anymore, but those pets are still theirs.
BUT
If they don't want some of their pets anymore, I don't think it would hurt to put a few in the pound for some people to take. A lot of people may want those pets and can't trade anything for them, and I think it would be nice to give people a chance to collect even one cool rare pet. But unfortunatly, it not my decision, nor anyone else's, but that one owner. And If the owner does not want to give up any pets, he or she doesn't have to, even if they never go on here again. If they didn't care about their pets, I think they would at least do something like take them to the pound. If not, that is their decision, and we have to respect that.
Don't get me wrong. If they have multiples of the same pet, they should give at least one away, to be nice. But again that is their choice. We all want things, but we just have to learn to get over it (like my little brother) XD.
REMEMBER: THIS IS MY OPINION. I don't want to start a fight or anything. I do respect all of yours, and some of them are very good. Thank you for reading, those of you who did.

I have more to say about the rares thing:
I do agree with you, Kiara, just because there are not a lot of them doesn't change their appearence at all. And for all the people who think old pets are the some of the only ones that are cool, well, in a few months or so YOU'LL have old pets. The Febuary and March pets, for example. That was just 3-4 months ago, and now mostly everyone wants them because they're not around anymore. So in about 3-4 months, YOU'LL have cool pets that a lot of people will eventually want, especially the newbies. I'm saying this because some people have to be happy with what they have. I'm not saying anyone is greedy, and it's not wrong to want something you don't have, but they are just things. Like I said in my last post, they are just virtual. They may be pretty and colorful and sparkly, but virtual. Now if they could jump out of your computer and magically tranform into real pets then that's a different story. What I'm trying to get as is, just wait and be patient. And you will be rewarded. (with what you might ask? I have NO IDEA)XDDDD

How on earth is that unfair? You don't HAVE to have an account. Why should not having an account make someone less worthy of having a pet? When I first joined CS in July 2008, we couldn't even have accounts so I didn't have one for my pets. That didn't mean I didn't enjoy them or post them places. You can't assume that, just because the pet's not on an account, it doesn't have an owner.

Really, don't be greedy. You're the one being unfair. We can't just go around stealing the pets of other people just because they couldn't be bothered with signing up. It obviously doesn't matter to Tess and Nick, as people are allowed to adopt without creating an account, so why should it matter to you?

I don't mean to start an argument, but why does everyone want new rare pets?

I was just about to start on getting julys/augusts, because I had every single pet from september-current and pre-july, and now I'm stuck with the Equimagine ponies, last grunge growth, and Nick unicorn.

I'm probably going to have to trade any good trading stock I have just to get those, I really think that's enough rares for a little while.
