Saltnose smiled. " C'mon lets split up. " he mewed. He scented a bird. He jumped in a tree, he stayed still. Seeing it grow tense from the sudden movement. It relaxed as it did he jumped on it and bit it's neck.

Ashpaw turned sharply and padded off.

Saltnose smiled. He came back with 2 voles, a mouse, and a bird. He waited for Ashpaw.

Ashpaw came back with a rabbit and 3 mice.

Saltnose grabbed his prey. He looked at her. " Ready? " he mewed with his mouth muffled.

Saltnose began to pad back to camp. He placed down his prey and grabbed a mouse. " Hey Specklepelt! " he mewed.

Specklepelt laid by herself with her other kit Owlkit. " Who's that? " Owlkit squeaked. " Your other uncle, Saltnose, and his apprentice Ashpaw. " she purred. " Hello you two. "

Ashpaw put her prey on the pile and followed Saltnose.
