THE LOST RIDERS - History

Postby ImmyWimmy1 » Sat Oct 19, 2013 2:19 am

-HISTORY-
Unknown to much of the world, a Bermuda Triangle of sorts exists in the Sahara desert. Lost in this inescapable, but also unreachable land, live ancient reptilians known to us a Dinosaurs, kings of the lizards. A population of humans also occupying this remarkable land has learned to tame and befriend these beasts. They live in harmony, the humans providing food and shelter, while the beasts provide fast transportation in the hot desert sun and serve as defense from wild dinosaurs and rival tribes.

The people, who call themselves the Mat'chari (maht-char-eye), separated long ago into segregated tribes after multiple feuds. There are 6 tribes in existence; The Mat'onit, who dwell in the western plateau; the Mat'junea, who live in the southern hills; the Mat'larun, who live in the eastern plains; the Mat'era, who reside in the central flatlands; the Mat'iri, who live in the sparse northern woodland, and finally the mysterious Mat'huen, who occupy the dark caves underneath all of the lands. The tribes are constantly at war, fighting over the limited land, personal arguments, or stealing and raiding.
The tribes' colors are as follows:
Mat'onit: Crimson
Mat'junea: Gold
Mat'larun: Violet
Mat'era: Cobalt
Mat'iri: Emerald
Mat'huen: Onyx

While there are a few other dinosaur species in the area, none are large enough to ride except the dominant Bernikesaurus, a distant relative of the Allosaurus.
Tribesman and women go through a test to "become an adult" or "coming of age" by capturing their first Bernikesaur. It is a very tedious, strenuous and dangerous task, but once they capture their steed it will trust them completely. After training, the young rider and his or her mount can earn their place among the people and is allowed to wear the honorary mark of a Rider, displayed by a cape in the color of their Tribe.
When a Rider goes to war, they often decorate their dinosaur with tribal war paint, often in their Tribe's color but sometimes in others as well.

THE LOST RIDERS - How to Adopt

Postby ImmyWimmy1 » Sat Oct 19, 2013 2:23 am

-HOW DINO ADOPTION WORKS-
Newly found wild Bernikesaurs will be posted from this topic. A sign on the drawing saying "Uncaptured" means it is available for you to adopt. You, as a hopeful member of your Tribe, attempt to capture the beast you wish to own by filling out the adoption form on it's page. Successful capture grants you ownership of the dino.

THE LOST RIDERS - Becoming a Rider

Postby ImmyWimmy1 » Sat Oct 19, 2013 2:28 am

-HOW TO BECOME A RIDER-
To become a rider you must train your dinosaur. This can be done in either writing or artwork. Once you have mastered the basic 3 skills, you will be able to saddle your creature and ride. If you complete the 3 more advanced training challenges, you will be awarded the honorary cape of royalty from your tribe and can paint war symbols on your dinosaur if you wish.

Artwork for training can be anything, digital or traditional, and even simple sketches will do.
Writing must be at least 1 paragraph long.

Basic Training:
1) Draw or write about your rider's first attempt to touch or pet your dino.
2) Draw or write about your rider's first attempt to saddle and put a bridle on your dino.
3) Draw or write about your rider's first attempt to ride your dino in the saddle.
-Basic Training Complete!-

Advanced Training:
1) Draw or write about your rider standing, sitting, or lying down next to/with your dino, just relaxing.
2) Draw or write about your rider riding your dino to or around your Tribe's border.
3) Draw or write about your rider shooting an arrow or throwing a spear from on top of your dino.
-Advanced Training Complete!-

Your rider and dino are now fully trained. You may wear a cape bearing your tribe's color, and also if you wish to paint war symbols on your mount.

THE LOST RIDERS - Rules

Postby ImmyWimmy1 » Sat Oct 19, 2013 2:37 am

-RULES-
1) You can only have one dinosaur in training per level at a time. This means your first dino that is successfully captured must go through basic training until you can capture a second one.
2) Do not complain or argue if you do not win a dino.
3) Do not steal, edit, or claim me art in any way, shape, or form.
4) Do not take this art off of CS unless it is to a personal website, in which case link back to here.
5) I am not taking artist or custom requests at this time.

THE LOST RIDERS - Customs

Postby ImmyWimmy1 » Sat Oct 19, 2013 2:54 am

~:Customs:~

Penultima wrote:"Yes, the long requested and awaited customs are finally available!

Custom Dinos are free of charge payment-wise. However, your "payment" for getting a custom is that you must train it to at least Basic training level. If your custom sits unused for two months I have the right to re-claim it and put it up for adoption.

Another important bit of info is that Bernikesaur customs are not "specific". I will absolutely not draw your character in dino form. Basically, you tell me the themes, colors and patterns and I'll create it.

Customs will have 3 open slots at a time. It's a FCFS basis, so no complaining.

To see whether customs are open or not, please follow this link.
