Calamity blinked and stood, surprised that he would even offer to carry her. "No.. no I'm fine. I thought you hated me, remember?" She turned and walked off quickly. She turned a corner around a wall and stopped, her back against the wall. "Ugh.. Why.." She shook her head and kept walking.

Camilia huffed. "If it does come back, it's dead. So it had better not." She narrowed her eyes and stared off at the castle in the distance. "What in the world is he recruiting now?"

I shudder at the confersation between Camilia and Victor. I turn and stroke Illusion's silky blackish-red coat, wishing this whole war had just never even started. It's separated friends, families... my family in particular. It was already starting to fall apart, thanks to me, but with all the fighting happening.... Everyone has to choose what side they're on, and I've made my choice, regardless of what they chose... I tell myself.

" On a brighter note on patrol yesterday I didn't notice anything too strange. There was a clear sign on newcomers though which concerns me." he said. He looked down at his arms and then up at them both.

I look back at Victor, a worried look on my face. "Do you really think it can get any worse than it already is?" I ask quietly, knowing full-well what his answer is bound to be.

Camilia blinked and stared at Riley. "Riley, don't think about that. It'll only make you lose hope. We have to look on the bright side of things." She sheathed her knife and looked at Victor. "Victor, why don't you show Riley the rest of the camp? I'm sure she would like that."

I nod slightly, understanding what Camilia's saying. As if I could really lose much more hope than I already have, I say to myself silently. Ever since I lost my family, I've never really believed that this war would ever end. At least not end well.
