origin meaning: The star who is luminous.

She's a mysterious lil' girl<3

A little clichéd, she knows- but it'll be the Werewolf or Wolf-man.
Now comes the part people always ask, why? c;

As a young foal, Maristela always spends her time reading- her love for books never ends, mainly due to her curious nature and ever growing need to learn. One day, while searching through her father's personal little library.. she stumbles upon a book that looks like it has met Time itself and dances for years. It was sandy in the middle, as if dust had gathered there after ions.. the pages were brown like the earth itself and they felt fragile. Her eyes sparked at the discovery- a book this old was bound to hold secrets or text she has no knowledge of! She eagerly flipped it open, her eyes shone with a child-like hunger to learn more and more. What was this book?

A book of tales long forgotten, of folklore, myths and legends.
It spoke of things not understood by many or the names of beings lost in time.

One word caught her eye in the index -"Werewulf"- and she tilted her head to the side, pondering the word. She understood the meaning, for it meant one who is a man but yet a wolf.. but it made no sense to her, for how could one be a beast yet human at the same time? Her curiosity growing, she flipped to the chapter and spent hours on it. So many names for those who harbor the form of a wolf in them! Loloup-garou was the French term for it.. lycanthrope came from the Greeks.. while Native Americans call such people Skinwalkers.. so many various names, yet so many different kinds of wolf-man hybrids. She couldn't believe her eyes, that such a text or book existed in her vary home and she never knew. The idea of a part-human part-wolf creature fascinated her ever since. In her journey to learn more, she discovers many more legends of shapeshifters from different parts of the world; but the one she will always love most is the "Werewolf" for it is with this creature, that her love for the Unknown grew.

Maristela is a quite a timid one.. though a more appropriate term would be shy. Ever since she was a foal, she was looked down upon quite often; numerous reaons contributed to this.. but it made her quite of an introvert. Feeling hurt and hounded upon by the ones she know or meet, she felt she'd be less likely to be tormented if she barely opened up at all. She did have friends, oh yes- but even then, she was still quite quiet around them despite the encouragement to be more friendly. Her parents insisted her shy nature was from birth, but in the end no one can be sure. Perhaps her experiences as a youth pushed her shyness up to a whole new level...

Well, she is indeed quite the daydreamer. Spending most of her time with her head in the clouds, she often dozes off into a blank state of mind. Where her thoughts just flow freely... One moment, she could be wondering what her parents are doing. The next moment, she'd be curious what she'd eat for dinner tonight. Another moment, she'd be thinking of life and where her future is heading. The twists and turns in her head are infinite; and she spends hours a day just zoning out. She isn't lazy, but she is one who spends a lot of time just pondering and thinking.. about any possible thing in life and the reality we reside in.

Quite the stubborn one she is. Like a horse that refuses to cross a river, no amount of tugging on the harness will budge it. And her iron determination (and occasionally child-like stubbornness) shows its face regularly. A bit of a pampered youth, she was an only child (or..foal. XD); so she was quite used to getting what she wanted. Age, maturity and time did remedy that bad trait of hers- though it still lingers. But it can be a good thing. Her stubbornness shows itself as a sort of blind determination that has proved to benefit her and sometimes others. To put it simply, if she decides on something- she's going to make sure it happens or she gets it. Channeled correctly.. her iron will will bring her far in life. Honestly, she can't help being stubborn.. it's a sort of natural instinct now. When she wants something, she really [i]wants it. And she will try her utmost best of efforts to succeed.

Art. Something she can definitely admit she loves and appreciates. Even as a youth and her growing years, Maristela always held a deep affection for art of all forms. Drama.. acting.. music.. drawing.. singing... any form of art at all, she was curious and she loved them. Many times she has attempted to find her inner artist, but she's still on her journey. With a mother who was quite skilled in traditional art, she was often shown the works of her mother as they chatted long into the night.. her father was an artist in his own right as well, for he loved music and could draw fairly well. Her life at home revolved around artistic mediums.. though she took a more direct approach, learning art on a digital scale. Using her magic, she tinkered with technology as she curiously tested how well one could draw on a computer. Her mother, though slightly against it -preferring a traditional form of art- guided her all the way. imparting skills to the young Maristela. At her peak right now, she can draw both traditionally and digitally- though she has much to learn.. in her own time, she nurtured a love for photography and yearns to travel the world one day; to bring back tales of her journey to her parents at home.

Quite a peaceful youth in some points, whenever life becomes too rough and bumpy for her and she has no one to turn to; she returns to her origins- Mother Nature herself. There's no denying it (for Maristela at least), the quiet of and solitude of nature can indeed soothe her troubled heart. Though it may be temporary.. the peace of mind calms her and gives her hope for a better day tomorrow. In fact, her favorite place of dwelling is the backyard of her home where it extends into the woods. On a weekly basis, all sorts of creatures and animals venture into her home- and it brings a smile to her face. Something about the simple yet beautiful aspect of Nature gave her some form of.. gratitude.. peace.. love and more. Her love for nature extended beyond that as well, and as they always say: The Sky is the limit! Twice a week, Maristela spends time along outdoors- gazing up to the heavens. The stars twinkle playfully, as if beckoning for her to run with them through the sky. They sparkle and shine like little diamonds in the sky, the sight is truly spectacular.. and she knows this well. Nothing is more comfortable, then falling asleep under the stars as they watch over you...

Personality: [list]As her name would suggest, she is rather like the rarely seen Hindu goddess. She is reserved, though not shy, and very, very kind. She could not wish harm to single living soul. She does not often feel the need to speak unless directly spoken to, but when prodded will talk at length about the things she takes an interest in. She is maybe just a weeeeeee bit of a gossip, though she prefers hoarding information to giving it out. She is gentle, but firm and sturdy. Rather unconsciously and unwillingly the mothering type, she can't help but sympathize with most anyone and anything that is in distress or somehow needs help. She is definitely a dreamer, and enjoys spending time in her own head, following her train of thought deep into ideas and theories and basically weird things most people don't bother wasting their time with. Optimistic almost to a weakness, she is without a doubt on the "glass is half full" side of the spectrum.
