This window, as you may notice, is 6 hours long rather than 3. Our goal, over the coming weeks, is to continue increasing the durations of these windows gradually while monitoring the site. Our hope is that by doing so, we can spread out the perceived volume enough that people are eventually registering at a more gradual rate, which will be healthier on the load. While we don't have concrete dates or plans for subsequent windows, the team would love to make them more consistent until the gates are open permanently.
We have been working with LightSky closely to refine the registration process so that if heavy load causes any part of the process to fail, users will be notified. We had several players not make it in last time even though they received confirmation e-mails, and are looking to prevent that in this window.
We look forward to greeting all of our new players!
