“Great.” Mintfrost replied to Stormstar, lowering her voice to match his tone. She quietly nodded and dropped into a hunting crouch, moving swiftly towards the sparrows. Glancing back at Stormstar, Mintfrost saw that he was waiting for her. She narrowed her eyes with concentration and opened her jaws, the scent of the sparrows now easily detectable. They were probably just behind the bush next to her. Instead of springing through the bush, the midnight she-cat crept around so the sparrows were inbetween her and Stormstar. She stood up and yowled, racing through the undergrowth. The sparrows quickly darted away from her and into the direction of Stormstar; just as she had hoped. Now she sprang towards one of the sparrows, easily bringing it down and killing it.

Stormstar waited, finally hearing the yowl. He lept and brung all of his weight to crush the sparrow, easily catching it. He looked up to see if Mintfrost had caught the other one.

Whisperpaw for a moment felt satisfied that she could cheer up her friend but then saw the worry on Harepaw's face. "What's wrong?", she asked in a soft whisper.

[color=#ff9a03]"Yes beetlefoot. It's alright! The food pile needs a refill anyways", Paintedwind told the amber-eyed tom. She followed Beetlefoot out of camp and started to look if any prey were out. It's leafbare meaning prey was scarce. The last time she was out, she was lucky enough to catch a scrawny little sparrow. She smelled a rabbit in the air as the wind picked up and followed it to a small burrow. Curious, she stuck her paw inside.

Mintfrost picked up the limp sparrow, the loose feathers from it's wings getting blown away in the breeze. She turned around in time to see Stormstar kill his sparrow and she met his eyes, purring from behind the warm piece of prey.
“Should we head back to camp?” She suggested, her meow barely audible from behind the small bird.

Beetlefoot lead the way through Foxclan territory, sometimes glancing backwards at Paintedwind. A deep feeling of protection for the she-cat washed over him each time he looked over his shoulder.
“Oh. Great.” He breathed, still slightly stiff from last night's rest. Distracted, Beetlefoot stopped and opened his jaws, the scents of a rabbit and squirrel coming to the tom. To him, the scents seemed stale as the cool weather tainted his noise and blocked his ears. After that, he once again looked at Paintedwind but to his shock, she wasn't anywhere to be seen.
“Paintedwind! Where are you?” The tom yowled, his fur bristling with panic. Opening his jaws, he caught a hint of the she-cat's scent, mingling with a rabbit's. He clumsily tripped through the undergrowth, his paws getting caught in hidden roots. Bursting through a scraggly bush, Beetlefoot stumbled upon Paintedwind sticking her paw into a mysterious burrow.

Harepaw purred, her chest rumbling with the force of it. She flicked her good friend on the nose with her tail, trying to brighten the mood.
“Oh! I'm just wondering if I'd get in trouble with my mentor.” She stopped talking but then added, “Stormstar.” Harepaw wondered if it would prove to be more difficult with having the leader as her mentor, would he expect more or less of her?

[ The burrow that Paintedwind stuck her paw in could be a fox den? It could smell like rabbit because the foxes recently ate rabbit, which also masked their scent? ]

Stormstar nodded. He turned towards the way of the camp and started to walk towards it, stopping to make sure Mintfrost was following him.

Mintfrost watched Stormstar walk towards the general direction of camp, lasping into a trance. She shook her head, shaking herself into reality, as she saw him turn around and look at her. Kicking up some dirt, the she-cat caught up to her hunting partner, shyly falling instep with him.
“So, who do think you're going to choose for deputy? You have so many options-” Mintfrost babbled on, trying to make small talk but basically doing most of the talking herself. “- Russetfur, Bluewater, they're pretty sensible choices.”

"Beetlefoot has stepped up his game for deputy. And he's acting just like one as well." Stormstar said with a small shrug.
