I just watched X-Men First Class and it reminded me of a scene with Senshi, that happens about six months from where she is now, which is just entering the Kanto Region.
Senshi is basically on a training journey after she is defeated by Jay, and she decides to take a test where she climbs a mountain without the help of her Pokemon.
Senshi wrote:Senshi gulped as she looked at the narrow cliff. It looked like it would just fit her, but it definitely wouldn't fit Queen or Char. She turned to her team and sighed. Sorry guys, I need to return you. She told them mentally, before returning each Pokemon to their respective Pokeballs. Normally she would've spoken directly to them, but the guide had warned her that this mountain was known for rock slides, so she'd spent the hike so far talking to them with their mental connection. She pressed herself flat against the cliff-face and started shuffling across the ledge.
Every few minutes, the girl would look to see that the ledge seemed eternal. The sun was beating down on her face, making her grow hot underneath her long sweats and large sweater. Every time she saw a small rock fall somewhere up ahead, she would tense and tremble as she waited for her demise. But when she thought the coast was clear, she would keep going on her slow ascension of the mountain, shuffling across the cliff and trying her hardest not to look down.
Rumble
Senshi froze as she saw a few larger rocks falling ahead of her. She steeled her nerves and kept going, despite the screams of protests inside her head coming from herself and her Pokemon. She stopped whenever a boulder went by, but the rubble was slow and she was nearly across.
Boom!
Practically right next to her, a large rock smashed into the ledge. The blonde couldn't hold back her scream, and her muscles locked up as the edge she was standing on crumbled. She screamed again as it broke beneath her, sending her hurtling towards the ground. She heard stone breaking behind her, and then something connected with her lower back, something sharp. Her eyes blanked as her vision exploded into black for a moment, then she couldn't feel anything. She was in more pain than she'd ever been in in her entire life, but she couldn't feel. She saw and heard everything as it went past her, and then it all came back with each nerve in her body set on fire and she cried out again.
Bom!
There was a bright flash of white next to her and then she landed in a pair of muscular arms with a loud gasp. The Pokeball fell to the trees below, and she looked up into the eyes of Char. The Charizard had her held securely to her chest, and was flying down towards the trees. She closed her eyes and concentrated on fighting the pain, but her breathing was still heavy and each movement made her scream.
After what seemed like an eternity, Char touched down and rested Senshi on the ground, making the girl scream again. Are you ok? Speak to me! She begged mentally, letting out a few worried grunts.
Senshi was still breathing heavily. Another Pokemon was released next to her; she could tell it was Queen, and the Nidoqueen sat down beside her and lifted her upper body into her arms. Another wave of pain came over her, and she saw a sharp cliff fragment being thrown away, her blood covering most of it.
Can you stand?
The girl was about to try, when she became aware of something frightening; she couldn't feel her legs. She tried to move them, but they remained lifeless. I can't feel my legs! "I can't feel my legs!" She shrieked, panic filling her bright green eyes. She wasn't aware of Char taking to the air, everything felt foggy and muted. She felt Queen try to lift her, but pain flared from the wound and she screamed. She was rested down again, and claws ran soothingly through her hair as she gasped for breath, trying to come to terms with the fact that she couldn't move.
It wasn't long until she fainted against the Shiny Nidoqueen from the fear.
Senshi is, in fact, paralyzed. Since Char's Pokeball was lost/broken in the fall, she pushes her wheelchair round so that she doesn't have to give up battling. Watching X-Men reminded me that I needed to get her accident down on paper. :3
I APOLOGIZE FOR ANY FEELS EXPERIENCED.
