chilly, winter isn't gone yet! it's early spring!

s p r i n g {x} spring is when most of the princesses, ladies and maids are in heat. now is the time if you want royal...or not so royal pups! but be warned! females get vicious and irritable and rival families take advantage of the good weather to grow food and gather armies.
w i n t e r { } winter is a time of frozen ponds, chilled winds and low food stores. the herds are dwindling and rough times fall upon all families, which prompts a season long truce.
f a l l { } leaves are falling and new pups are being born! everything is a passionate shade of red, pink, orange and yellow. your herds begin to get restless and nights are cooler, days shorter. winter is around the corner, so stock up!
s u m m e r { } every fae is round with pups, and newfound love is in the air! herds are flourishing and a few doe's in the herd are being covered to produce foals for the coming spring. rival family attacks haven't ceased yet, in fact, they are at their height! watch out!

the vast lands, wealth, kingdoms and families all started out as well, a crew. each family had one founding member. for the celestium family, Marcus. he was an ancient breed of dog that originated in southern Africa. most dogs and wolves in the celestium family have light-coloured coat and eyes.
for the umbra family, Beelzebub. this huge and fearsome wolf came from the woods of Romania. most umbranian wolves and dogs are dark coloured.
Mia was the first if the loctem family. she was a white wolf from the upper regions of Canada. most loctemites are coloured in shades. white, gray, light, dove or dark gray and occasionally black.
the last but certainly not least deity for terranila was Fenris. he was a large dog from France. his terranillan ancestors are usually rich shades of brown, mongoose, tri-colour or spotted on occasion.

every family has a founder. these founders met in an unlikely happening one day long ago. each had a rich and powerful mind. together, they formed something of a small cult, that later grew into four subdivisions. celestium, loctem, umbra and terranilla. they were classified under the heading ; Black Rose Crew, for the little gang the original leaders called themselves. slowly, each group began to recruit, breed and expand, forming greater colonies under the teachings of each leader. celestium began to worship the sun and the universe. terranilla the earth and its healing. umbra, sorcery and alchemy and wickedness. loctem studied law and order, virtue and sin. they became a kind of peacemaker for the other three groups.
as each colony formed its own beliefs and virtues and ways, they grew apart. Hundreds of years after the founders died, the nobles of each colony began to worship the founders as gods. they also decided that each colony was a family, and would be classified by a short prefix at the beginning of each canines name.
they also developed ways of hunting, literature, art and music, and became the predominant species.
in the present day, the lands of the Black Rose Crew are situated in Europe, long after humans have become extinct. the old castles were refurbished and made to live in once again. with the help of umbra's magic in return for large sums of Rosë (or R$, Rose Dollars) each castle, house and abode was remade to house canines.
now, each dog has a profession, political seat or monarchy they belong to, and thrive in.

there are currently no plots or contests.

BRC has many traditions that have been around since the beginning.

h e r d i n g
in order to maintain prey, the canines of each family have amassed many herds of different hoofed animals including deer, cattle, gazelle, sheep, hartebeast, topi, antelope, oryx and horses.
the herders manage the breeding, welfare and feeding of the animals by herding them to different locations across each families land. when some are ready to be eaten, the herders separate the chosen animals and some hound breeds kill them and take them to the stockpile to be eaten.

m a r r i a g e
when the king chooses a mate from the ladies of the court, he marries her. it is usually a grand celebration that many nobles are invited to. when commoners marry from any canine, the affair is simple or large, depending on the wealth of the family.
a priest must join them with these words. "we are gathered today to witness the joining of brute and fae, may they bring each other good health and long life."

r o y a l h u n t s
a royal hunt is a favourite pastime of the members of court, each family does it. the prince, king, trusted noble or royal advisor leads the hunt. they gather five animals from the herds and set them loose in the countryside. they gather two groups and set out. sometimes, to heighten the sport, they set a buck, stallion or stag loose. only on occasion will a lady join the hunters. the hunter are members of court.

c e l e b r a t i o n s
On occasion, royal parties, balls or feasts will be held at the castle each family. they are usually set at the turning if each season, coronation, birth of royal children or others. Some more minor celebrations could be the end of war, holiday feasts, plentiful food feasts, or other.
At feasts, only royals, senators, canines in court, nobles and their children and herders and hunters, guards and warriors and each groups family will be invited. When there is a festival, party or important meeting, commoners are also invited.

a h a d i---grew up in a rich family of foreign wolves before deciding he would rather hunt for the royals than live at court. he is a huge flirt and loves to do accents. he has a lot of money, so he always looks his best and attends court festivities, hoping to catch the eye of a young fae at court.
Ahadi is a middle child if three, and tries to live up to his parents expectations. They didn't want him to be a hunter, they would rather he was like his elder brother, Zotz, and stay at court.
