Kyle hadn’t been out trick-or-treating for very long. In fact, Kyle had just left his next door neighbor’s house. He had gotten a Snickers, his favorite candy bar, and now he was off to the rest of the neighborhood. It was still very much light outside, so he could go out without his mom, who was now two doors away. Kyle lugged his still-light orange candy bag to the next house over.

Kyle looked at the decorations in front of the house. Their white picket fence was covered in green and black spiderwebs with little spiders throughout. He opened the gate, which squeaked as he opened it. Kyle shivered. The lawn looked more like a cemetery than ever as fog poured off the porch down to the lawn covered in fake headstones. Kyle quickened his pace to the door.

Looking around he finally found a button. Aha! Kyle pressed the doorbell and waited for an answer. The door creaked open and Kyle looked up to the person who answered the door. Kyle smiled underneath his knight’s helmet.

“Trick or treat!”
