I have that same problem
Using a tablet helps , but I am jealous of Knight using a mouse.....ANYWAY , yes I do
Don't be afraid to make long lines(fury ect)--This pic I over did the lines (size two) but I trimmed the ends to make like a thinker to thinner line (use the eraser) ; I do this mainly to make the fur look sharper also my tablet doesn't take pen pressure

Try to make the lines all the same size
I use smoothing (80-97) -This makes the lines nice and keep all the same length and also keeps the flowing motion
I use the occupancy at 100% --this make a big difference (just try it if you don't already)

Do not be afraid to make it big If you do not notice I have a tenancy to make the pic very big so it takes up most of the canvas (just a weird thing I do and I swear I can not do pixel , because of the way I take up the room)


Haha sorry if this didn't help ..... I can try and to explain it some more ....but I am bad at explaining things
These are just the 3 main things I do

oh and when you are easing the lines -the second point- make sure you get the light grey areas around them -I can make a pic of that if you want-

Sorry for the pics they were the only things I could use to show some of the lines (trust me on this one thing---the out lining looks so much better when you add color to the inside of them)
