My species should be up soon c:
Thy probably won't be on CS but I'm excited;
I'll try to post at least a rough sketch of the two "sub species" I guess
these are unorthodox creatures so hopefully they'll gain a little bit of acceptance.

No offence, but don't we see a lot of species like this one..? ^__^' Y'know, fluffy, long ears, floofy tails, ecxess paw fur. I'd love to see someone make a lizard species (Or maybe even cat, rodent, monkey etc :3). Especially you, Vin. Your art is amazing as always, and none the less, this species is adorable <3

And sadly its the only thing that gets any real attention on CS. all the well known and wanted species on here are all canine. Kia's for example are just dogs with horns and a JBD tail, and all the others are fluffy as well.

Kiamaras and JBDs were the two first popular species to have lion tails. (Note how I didn't say JBD tails.) And there are certainly more original aspects to kiamaras than all you just named, it's a bit rude to describe it like that when apple dedicated a lot of time into creating even the species' concept.

Alas, what you say is true. No matter how many people say "Wow this species looks great I have to get my hands on one!", if they're not fluffy and cute, popular before this epidemic called a norm broke out of great big fluffy things or if they are branched off of popular adopts then they probably won't be all too successful, which is unfortunate because the newer more original concepts are actually really cool. It's not only the community though, some species are obvious frauds of JBDs and other popular adopts out there.

I'm trying to create a species that's original and I don't want it to fail
Due to it being too creepy or something like that.
I just don't even know what to do to bring the market to them.
Not to mention getting them acknowledged of "oh hey, that looks really cool, let me get one!" Because it's hard.
That's part of the reason I'm basing mine at Deviant Art.
Hopefully it's different and a great concept that draws attention like LlD's;
Because frankly, that idea, Raven feather, was a genius one c:
