Shadepaw looked over at Leafpaw,
"What do I have to appreciate? No one wants to be my friend, so I don't appreciate having any friends. My mother and father don't want anything to do with me, so I don't even appreciate living!"

[iPawki]

"I want to be your friend," Leafpaw mewed. "My mother died when I was a tiny kit, and my father abandoned me. I was a lost loner kit until the Clan took me in. I saw the sunshine, the hope, and now I'm happy. Shadepaw, you're only miserable because you're pushing everything away." Her bright green eyes were kind, but yet a twinkle of wisdom was seen in the corners of her bright pupils.

Shadepaw's face brightened,
"You do?"
he meowed, his ears pricked.

Leafpaw laughed, her small size seeming tiny compared to Shadepaw, "Of course I do, silly." She mewed happily.

[splashfoot]

Shadepaw felt close to yowling out in joy, and he shook trying to control his emotions.
"That's...You're....the first friend I've ever had,"
he whispered, his voice shaking.

[iPawki]

"I'm glad to hear it," Leafpaw mewed, the childish, playful looks returning to her round green eyes. She fluffed out her fur, as though trying to become taller than Shadepaw, and giggled for no absolute reason.

[splashfoot]

Shadepaw smiled and let out a small mrrow of laughter. His eyes bore deep into Leafpaw's, and he felt an connection with the younger apprentice that he had never felt before.

Leafpaw grinned, a certain, new emotion filling her pretty eyes. "Come on! Now you have no reason to be grumpy!" She mewed, flicking her tail towards the outside of the den.

[splashfoot]

Shadepaw rolled his eyes and scrambled to his paws.
"I guess..."
he laughed.

{ OMG guess who I'm getting a commission from! }

(Who? Got to go to bed, sorry!)

"Good! We can go on a patrol together!" Leafpaw squealed.
