It really does capture his personality. X3

I love Amanda Lynn's tail for several reasons: 1) it's so pretty 2) her lovely tail scarf 3) it's curled 4)it's so fluffy! ♥

mods pm me if you want me to take it down

Okay, members of the CAAA. Before I began, let me try to make something clear. I dont mean to come off as rude, greedy, selfish, or stuck up. I just want to get something out there that I believe needs to be noticed. That something being offering for a charrie.

I've been selling OCs, and a lot of other people have as well. I've noticed that when someone says "Make an offer" the sale seems to come to a stand-still, or a bad offer is given that may offend some. If you think about it, to some OCs are more than just a picture on a screen. It'll be something to love, create, and put your time into. An artist sat there and took time out of their day to create this being, and was kind enough to offer it up to someone else. I'll admit that some are worth more than others, because of time spent, demand, and other art.

The problem is that a lot of the times an artist will say "make me an offer" (which is fine), but there are people who truly don't know how to value these OCs. They don't take a look at original pricing or added art. I'm not trying to rip on anyone, I just want to help so that more people can get charries they really like. When offering for a charrie, you need to stop and ask to yourself "How badly do I want it; Will I really use it; Why do I want it?" Once you have answered these questions and decided that you really do want the character, you should go to the next step of making an offer.

To start your offer, it's wise to look at the actual OC, it's reference, and any previous art it may have. It's also nice if you know how much the OC was originally gotten for, if it's being resold. Ask yourself "What would I be willing to pay for this; How much would normally be charged for a charrie like this?" and go from there. It's important to note that, when making an offer, you can't just beg and plead that every character is your 'Dream OC' because it turns a lot of users away.

Those aren't always going to be the perfect questions, since many people don't know the prices of things, and since everyone values a charrie differently in most cases. However, if you really stop and thing, it can be useful in a lot of cases.

Then there's the factor that some of the CAAA members buy charries with USD. However, that shouldn't turn anyone away unless they only want USD in return, since USD can be transfered into a variety of things (dA points, c$, pets, etc). So, don't let it stop you from being able to make an offer if they're accepting other forms of payment as well.

Like I said before, I don't mean to come off as rude (and I hope I haven't), but I think it's time that more people learn how to get a better idea on pricing an OC and making fair offers.

backseatpanda is going to draw King Zimos :DD
I just love the way you are drawing heads, they looks all so cute but still serious... I can't describe it well, it just looks awesome x3

@dragongoddest
You weren't rude at all. This is helpful, but I still don't know what to offer xD
Pricing an OC is really hard to me, especially if you look around dA. Some artists carge 15 points and others 10 dollar for designs I'd say are in the same league.
For me "make an offer" means "I'm not sure if I should sell the character or not, but if you bribe me I'll gladly give it to you" - or they don't know what to charge for it and wait for someone else to make a suggestion.

I think you made a very valid point dragongoddest, even I don't know how much to sell a character for or how much to offer, usually I just offer what I can afford to pay. X3

For me, auctions are killers of my soul because I'll just love the character so much, but in the end, I'm not likely to win it if I'm up against someone who I know has lots of good pets to offer and while I do have a bunch of good pets, I don't even think about using them as currency because I treat them like a 2nd set of characters. X3 I tend to get lucky though, I get help from really nice members here on CAAA sometimes which I will forever be grateful for. I'd never have gotten Colby if it wasn't for Gwen Trix. ♥

Aww, that's freaking adorable Tiger111! I wish I could get something like that! ♥ Shire's too nice. Did you get it from their shop or something or was it a gift? X3

I got some new pups from a collab breeding I did iSquidy101/i c e mistress;; <3 I own the second girl on her batch (lines by Xeshaire, designs by her), and the first and third on mine (Art and designs by me). The mother, Arizona, belongs to her, and the soon to be named father belongs to me. X3

Also got some cute art of my JBDs as eggs from fox. 8D

And I still have a few open from the batch I finished last night:

Still looking to sell these, I'm just 20 points away now. I can also do custom designs and possibly art commissions as well to get the last few points.
