Haila quickly followed him, that same little smile on her face. She always had it anyways, it was no use in losing it. Once seeing Jace's feet speed up, hers did too, almost mimicking him. Plus, she didn't want to loose him, due to him not being able to call for her at all. So just copying the speeds was the next best thing. Reaching the sidewalk, she just stopped at the curb, looking straight at the street. She had never been able to hear the running motors of cars and was never hit by one before, she really had no fear of them like some, and didn't notice Jace shrinking back. And when ready, she glanced towards him, and quickly crossed across the lonely street.
Reaching the other side, she could feel the comforting heat on her pale skin, and glanced around. She had never been here before, and was rather curious about it. Though when Jace moved, she quickly walked after him, and went in, looking at all the flavors after a small nod to him for holding open the door. She remembered the last time she had ice cream. That had been.... about 3 or 2 years ago? She didn't remember exactly, but she never forgot the cool taste in her mouth. Though she hesitated before ordering. She didn't know if she should talk or not, because that might make her sound really loud, and she didn't want to burst off any eardrums, so she just reached into her pocket. Typing into her phone, she gave it to the cashier, reading, "Mint chocolate chip please?"
