You might point out that his design has nothing to do with ripples. But I disagree, when naming it's not always just about the design. It's about how you imagine them, their soul, their spirit. As soon as I saw him I thought ripple, partly inspired by the background. And when you throw something like a stone at water it creates a ripple. His tail is blue which reminds me of water and he looks to me like someone who would be easily angered and would stand up for what he believed in. He'd have anger management issues and that would relate to his name. Whoever was provoking him would be the stone and he would be the ripple effect, reacting to the impact.
