Amberkit watched as Tigerkit played with a leaf. She was now out of his view so she took her chance and knocked him over.

Seapaw nodded faintly still a bit shocked. Did the clan know she'd been exiled? Was she dangerous?
"You... you're gonna tell me why, right?" The tom asked, watching his with large eyes. He suddenly felt very small, like a kitten who'd just hear a scary story.

Even though seeing Shadowstar was the last thing she wanted to do she knew it was better if she did. "Follow me and stay low. If we're caught, let your fur lie flat or they'll think we're stealing prey or something. And no hunting." she glared at the loner, leading the way over the border.

Tigerkit whined as he was pushed down. "Hey!" he complained, getting out of her grip.

"It's a long story." she muttered with a mouth full of leaves. "They believed that I killed the deputy on purpose."

"You didn't right?" Seapaw blurted out, speaking before he could stop himself. The tom immediately cursed under his breath, already feeling embarrassment creeping up on him. "Eh... Of course you didn't. Sorry. Why did they think that?"

Amberkit laughed and rolled over on her side. She loved playing with Tigerkit and wished this time would never end.

Vaporstar led the way into the territory and wrinkled her nose. "How do they live like this. ." she muttered. She could see the camp coming into site and slower her pace.

"Well it sure looked like I did. During a battle with LightClan I accidentally bumped into the deputy. I thought it was an enemy cat and attacked him, so. ." she trailed off, almost not wanting to finish the sentence. ". . He fell off the ledge into the gorge. Since almost all the LightClan warriors had left everyone's attention was focused on me. They figured I did it on purpose.

Tigerkit frowned rolling back on his belly. He looked around for the leaf and found it on the ground a few tail-lengths away. He got into a hunters crouch and pounced on it as if it were prey.

Any anxiety Seapaw had drained out of him then and he was replaced with a sense of ashamed sadness. He knew he shouldn't have assumed, but it was his way.
"Oh.. I'm sorry. That's awful." The apprentice said, looking down at his paws for a moment then back up at Swiftpatch. "But I guess if that hadn't happened you wouldn't be here now. And I like having you here."

Swiftpatch nodded with a smile. She wasn't going to mention the small part that the deputy was actually her brother and instead kept quiet. "He didn't die though. He landed on a ledge not far down but the clan didn't believe me."
