Hazestep sighed. He decided to go back and visit the kits. His eyes brightened. He began to sprint back to camp. He put down the prey and walked in.

Specklepelt jumped in surprise at seeing her brother. " Hey Hazestep! " she purred. The little ones began to walk around him. She smiled. " Those are my kits. " she whispered.

Hazestep eyes softened. " What are your names? " he asked the two she-cat kits.

Owlkit smiled. " I'm Owlkit and that's Mudkit. She isn't able to speak. So I'll be the big protector of the family. " she squeaked with pride.
